YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN DO IT! Absolutely everyone goes through this when they start. Member when I told you about me starting out and how hard it was and how I gave up for 8 months because I was so discouraged and I thought I would never get better? Well in October I ran for two hours straight (minus little breaks of a minute or less here and there)! I got better because I stuck to it, and you will too! I promise... just remember its normal that its hard... you are not weird or different.
ok !!i can do this!! holeeee you ran for 2 hours that's insane...i go crazy thinking about 2 minutes. tomorrow i run again, although i have pretty bad blisters, i guess just put bandaids over them ??
Yeah! Actually bandaid makes these blister covers which last for several days, you can shower with, and it makes it feel like there is no blister at all!
The mental thing gets a lot easier as the physical becomes easier... you will start to have fun! Plus music, or a friend to chat with, helps!
I agree with the text above. Just keep on doing the minute and little by little you'll improve! (I'm not The Running Expert in here but everybody improves, man) :)
you've already taken the biggest step in starting so just don't push yourself too much that you feel you want to quit. you have to listen to your body before you listen to a guide! do what you feel you can and it will eventually get easier, over time. if i can improve than anyone can!
thanks!! i feel fine physically, i mean i'm sore but it feels good, mentally it just sucks. the guide is pretty good, doesn't push you that hard. but i guess the mental thing will be there for whatever activity you take up. what did you improve? like running???
well not so much running as light jogging, i was doing the whole walk/jog/walk/jog thing before but on a treadmill. i could only take it so far because of asthma but i definitely had major improvement from what i could and can do now.
the mental thing is always hard because it's hard to think of the positive and not get discouraged when results seem so far away. i'm terrible for giving things up if i don't see results asap or if it requires long term commitment/effort. i guess really that just means i'm impatient and lazy. excellent!
