Ahhhh neglecting my dear Lj and my LJ buds again (ToT) I usually end up updating on the Jap sns, where I can get most of the information and enjoy active communities... Hope everyone is well?? (@u

Totoro! i'm forgetting the plot...! I've always wanted to sleep on its tummy X) you'll love Laputa ;)and the nausicaa manga. The movie version is cool but the manga...wow There are English versions, I don't know how they did the interpreting but please try the 7 volumes! o_o
The plot to Totoro is quite subtle. (plot summary) My neighbour lent me a copy she got from a friend, and she said she could discern no plot at all. X) It is about two girls who move to the countryside with their dad, waiting for their mother to get out of the hospital. And then, the youngest one spots the troll creatures. One of my favourite moments is when Satsuki and Mei go outside in the night and help the three totoro make the acorns grow into a gigantic tree! >^-^<
I am sure I will love Laputa. (*,*)~♥ One time I dowloaded it, but the audio & video were too a-synchronous to make any sense of the movie. I should see if my games store has the Miyazaki/Ghibli movies in stock again. Somehow I am always too late. T_T Did see Howl's Moving Castle, own a copy of Mononoke Hime, and saw Spirited Away in a cinema in Amsterdam! Love Jp folklore. Nausicaa manga? If I can find those, I surely will read! (^o^)/
Your Totoro has a biiig smile! :) Thanks for the summary, i remember Satsuki, Mei and their sick mother but not the scorn part... it's time to watch Totoro X) Mononoke and Howl (heard it was directed by Miyazaki's son)I didn't enjoy that much... :/ Maybe I need to watch them again to appreciate them? Pleeaase watch Laputa you have to @_@ hahaha I enjoy Muska!!
I read Nausicaa's last volume for the 3rd time today. Hmmm I wish I could discuss this with you XO
My little keychain Totoro is now sadly missing one paw, and a lot of the colouring has come off... (so some day I will have to go back to Tokyo and run to K-Books to get a new one! *_*)
Totoro is brilliant. My favourite character, though, may be the tiny white troll creature. Amazing how much expression there can be in just a few pen strokes~! ^o^/
Hm, maybe I view the movies differently. I really like this Japanese state of mind, which methinks comes across nicely in Jp faerie tales. Of course, it all may be in my head and just be a buttload of bollocks. ^^;; But you will have to admit: the little white clicky-head ghosties in Mononoke Hime are somewhat cute. And a bit creepy. But still cute. XD
But I DEFINITELY will watch Laputa, given the chance. And read Nausicaa. And then discuss them with you~♥
Yes, that clicky-heads I adore... I fell in love with them at the first sight! And the forest modeled after Yaku Island, we need to visit that place someday in the future (>o<) Uh...it just came to me. why didn't I take you to the Ghibli Museum!!? I totally forgot its existence... Arrggghh T_T
But the visit would be more enjoyable after you've seen Laputa, etc so someday when you get to come to Tokyo again we can do that :3 I should go hunt for Ghibli goods to send you!
