Dream Journal #7: Phantom.

Jun 08, 2006 10:13

[June 7 06 on the PC] I am starting to think my mind has been taken over by my nightmares. I'm always thinking about what I dreamed that morning and a lot of my time goes into interpreting and decoding my dreams. When I'm not doing that, then I daydream. But at least daydreaming doesn’t frighten the soul out of me. Right now it's past 4 pm and my ( Read more... )

I kind of miss having such vivid dreams. I used to write down the good ones but that habit fell aside long ago. I'll do it again some time.

Maybe the reason you have such horrid dreams so often is because you think so much about them.

I personally belive in alternate dimensions (look into String Theory and M-Theory). I think dreams are our unconcious metal links to other worlds, and I sometimes think that when we create characters that we are just using out imagination to tap into those dimensions for our creations o.O

Of course I'm just a weird person.

I don't keep dream journals, mostly because I never really remember my dreams when I wake up, but my mother keeps an old dream dictionary that is very extensive. Email me sometime and we can discuss dreams and I will tell you what my mom's book says. Maybe you will inspire me to keep a dream journal :)

Parallel dimensions are cool!

Man I'm having bad luck with LJ. My apologies for the triple post (first was as a general comment, second had extra writing...)

I fail to see how the multiverse theories alluded to in string theory allow for any sort of biological link to them.

It's one thing to believe in bubkis. But to believe in it because you think that real science backs it when it really doesn't is just nonsense. Obviously you're interested enough in physics to read The Elegant Universe or to watch the Nova miniseries of the same title. I would suggest further reading on the more rudimentary laws before jumping to such innane conclusions.

Or I would suggest reading Life of Pi and then making up your own story which totally excludes any reference to actual physics. Abuse of science is harmful to real science.

My interest in science starts with Marvel comics and ends with Futurama. All my ideas come from way too much daydreaming and cartoons X)

My friend (a chemist or something) showed me this site: http://superstringtheory.com/

It's a fun site :3

As always, I love your inspirational points X) I have one book that refers to the string theory, and various other cosmic theories related to time and dimensions. They're a bit difficult but they give me lots of cool hints and inspirations. I so agree with you on our characters having a link to another dimension!
I should ask to to interpret several symbols in my dreams... I used to have a dream omen book but what it says is quite different from western ones. I guess the meaning vary according to the region. It's a shame you don't remember your dreams, I am sure what you dream are worthy of record XO Share them with me when you do remember, and let's discuss them.

i keep a minicorder next to my bed, so when i wake up from a dream,
i mumble into the recorder everything i can remember. this way,
i don't disturb my sleep. when i wake up in the morning, i replay
them and can remember them. if i wake up and write them down i risk
being not able to go back to sleep again. so i write them in my
journal in the morning.

I have this mall recorder but I've never used it for recording my thoughts. In fact it seems my thoughts disappear the moment I voice a word. :O But writing in my notebook doesn't wipe out my memory. Actually, the combination of writing and sketching the scenes/ideas works the best for me.
