In the past few years I've been mistaken as a boy about three times.
The three occasions that I remember:
1) While getting ready for my blood transfusion at the hospital. The nurse asked my parent, pointing at me "So, what's his name?" I was surprised at myself when my eyes all of a sudden started to water. I never thought I would be shocked over something like that. And I was wearing pink pajama too.
2) Again at the hospital. I was lying on my bed when a nurse came into my room and her face was brimming with delight when she saw me. "Stanley!?" she called out to me. Haha, do I look like a Stanley. ^^;
3) Some lady asked my parent standing next to me "So this is your son?" I may have been "dressed like a construction worker" like she said but her face was only an arm-length from mine.
Yet I have no desire to grow my hair. I can't stand long hair because it gets in the way. Also, short hair dries faster. Though I'm often told I must try to look more decent, I'm comfortable with the way I am. Today I am dressed in my cutest, girliest (at least in my definition) clothes but all I got was a comment from my brother that I look like I'm 'preparing for a war.' Hehe. X)
