So my saturday didnt start the weekend off so good. Stone drove me and Britt to the Framingham train station so we could meet my dad in South Station for 12:30...well we missed our train and i got wicked stressed out and was being somewhat bitchy because I felt like nothing was going right that week and then this happens. It wouldnt have been a problem if there was another train coming but the next train was not for another 3 hours. So Stone said he would drive us to Boston, I felt really bad but he said he didnt care so he drove us all the way to South Station where we waited for my daddy and then we all walked around Boston and went to the running expo where me and Britt picked up our numbers, our racing packets, and looked around. After we left we went to Northeastern and Stone went back to Worcester. We stayed with Britts old roomate Mishell for the night. Mishell and her friend Mel are the two nicest girls I have ever met. Thank you girls for letting us stay with you :) When we woke up SUnday morning it was off for a busy day in Boston. Britt, Mel, Mishell and I all went back to the expo for a long time and waited for Britts family to get into Boston. When they got into Boston we picked up Britts little brother and walked around Boston until like 5 oclock. Nothing really exciting happened that night besides major butterflies.
MARATHON MONDAY:
At 5:45 the alarm clock went off and Britt and I got ready as quick as possible to meet my uncle down at his hotel room. When we got to his room he took us to catch the buses, the thing was they were not there because they moved them to a new location. So my uncle gave me 80$$ to take a cab that cost 6$ to get to the right location. After finally getting there we got right on a bus and we were off to Hopinkton. (PS: our fisrt hottie of a runner was sitting right next to me:))When we got to Athletes Village at 7:30 that morning there were not a lot of people there yet. We found a spot on the grass and layed out the towels that we stole from the hotel so we could lay down. At athletes village there were many hott runner ;) I <3 runners! We also met some really nice older men from New Foundland and it was interesting to hear their stories and for us to tell ours. On my shirt I had my name and then Eric, this is for you I love you and Miss you and they asked me about it so I told them and one of the guys actually told me about an amazing song about suicide. It is called how do you get so lonley by Blaine Larsen. Downlaod it, it is an amazing song. Anyways at about 11:30 it was time for us to start walking over to the starting line. When we got there we were in corral 21 so it took us about 30 minutes to get to the starting line but when we got there it was an amazing feeling and there were thousands and thousands of people. Adams family was at in Hopinkton and suprisingly AdAm went. It was good to see that he showed up. It made me feel a little better. So we didnt see anyone we knew until natick where Scott and his family were. Adams and his family actually tried going to Framingham but they had just missed us so it was no point for them staying. After seeing Scott it got bad. Britt was in a lot of pain and could barlrey keep her stride going. We stopped at a med tent where she got checked out and the guy made it sound like he wanted her to stay but Britt was not giving up and she kept going. After that she was a little behind me becuase she cold barley move but i kept looking back to see if i could see her. then one time when I looked back she was no where to be found and I tried waiting to see if I could see her but I couldnt so I kept going because I didnt know if she got picked up or not. After a few miles I asked a lady if I couls use her cell phone to see if I could track her down. At this point I was so out of it I could not even remember anyones phone number and I had no idea where I was. The lady was like you just passed the whatever mile mark and you are here. SO i got a hold of my sister to see if she could get a hold of my uncle to track Britt. So after that I kept running and running and along the way I met so many nice humans :) And it was good to have someone to talk to and share your story with them and have them tell you theirs. I then stopped again at about mile 23 to see if I could get a hold of my sister again and I did but Britt was no where to be found. I started getting worried and I felt aful because I would see running partners together and they were encouraginf the other one to move and alls I could think about was how much I wanted Britt running there with me so we could keep eachother going. Finally at about mile 24.5 Britt and I reunited. How I dont know but we did:) right after I found her I saw my brother, sister, matt and cassie and I went over to give them a hug and my older brother sighn said "Jill Mechan is my hereo" It was so cute:) so me and Britt continued on running and once we started to walk the crowd was like our almost there so we would start running again. as soon as we saw Boylston street we new we were going to make the 6 hour time to get our names in the books. Turning on to Boylston Street I first saw Britts family, then our friends, and then my family, the closer I got to the finish line the faster I started running, I felt like I was flying. My BAA time was 5:58, my net time tho was 5:31:17 :) I was extremly excited. Crossing the finish line My name was announced and it was the best feeling in the world :) I then went to get my medal :) THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL OF YOU WHO SUPPORTED ME THROUGH THIS AND CAME TO BOSTON TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU:) YOU MADE THIS POSSIBLE.
