This and that updates

Sep 05, 2014 10:12

So I can't remember what I've updated here and what I haven't, so rather than reading my archives, I'm just going to write a "state of Karin" post ( Read more... )

re: So if I don't post much for a year, you know why ;-)

I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN SISTER!

Please don't leave us hanging. Even if it's only to say "S'up?" You check in... got it?

Yes ma'am! Heh, I'll try. I'm hoping work will continue to be slow enough to allow me to read/respond to LJ entries, at the very least.

This is probably not a locked post, but I'm going to say it anyway...

Work was so slow for me yesterday I spent the BULK of the day writing this EPIC long 50 Weeks of 50 post about words that didn't exist when I was Adrian's age. It's a GOOD ONE! but you have to wait until Nov to read it. I've been writing them way ahead. Or...
I suppose I could shuffle them around a bit. But I won't.

Yay! for slow days when your boss calls in sick!

Heh, sorry, not locked. But yeah, my boss has been out of the lab for weeks now, and won't be back until late September. I've gotten a ton of my "backlog" done.

I will for SURE be looking for your 50 weeks posts. I love them. I'll give up facebook long before I give up livejournal.

Oh, and I completely forgot one of my triggers to write this post!

I know this sounds weird, but I miss foreign body diagnosis/surgeries from working clinical. After the fact (assuming the critter makes it through ok), they are such good stories.

I don't know if we had such good x-rays, but I remember 2 in particular. One was a standard "my boxer ate a stuffed toy" one, and I wasn't working surgery that day, but I was back in the lab and heard a scream from the surgery suite, and the tech came out with "we pulled this out of it's intestine, and when I flipped it over, it had EYES!" Still makes me giggle.

And the other, in the "embarrassing" vein, let's just say that tampons are like, custom-designed to plug up doggie intestines and cause issues.

Ha! yeah, that Great Dane sock thing was all over the news here. Wow, that's a shit load of socks.

I want some dog to eat a big ol' vibrator! Who the hell is going to admit to that???

*cough*

There is no photographic (or x-ray) evidence. Desie went to his grave swearing it never happened.

excellent....

We've already had the heather post about how pretty much ALL DOG CHEWS look like sex toys. I'd be surprised if it didn't happen all the time.

It's on my bucket list, for sure. Though I admit, that not being allowed to pump my own gas thing has made me wonder.

Hmm... I was going to try to comment about your post but then I read the comments and well... now I think I just need to go away quietly. Ahaha! Good luck with your class. I had an anxiety dream last night that I hadn't been doing my homework from an online class I was taking. Will those "haven't been to class" anxiety dreams never end? They are even keeping up with the online class technology!

wow, sounds like some exciting big changes, so hard to go thru the hard long hours to get there, but sounds like a good thing to push for and make happen to make things better in the long run.
