They'd been together long enough for the murmers to start, sly suggestions and knowing looks. For Terry the slow courtship was still new, something to savour and enjoy at it's own pace, not a race of expectations.
With family gathered around, children dancing through adult legs, Terry's heart jumped in fluttering dread when John waved for silence before dropping to one knee. He wasn't ready for the all important question, not yet.
'Terry' John held out his covered hand 'Would you like my last Rolo?' he winked and relief had Terry giggle, remembering all he loved about his beau.

Not sure how universal the advertising slogan is but Rolo's are caramel chocolates with the blurb 'do you love anyone enough to give them your last rolo'
