Firstly, thank you to
blainemuffin for warning me about an eyeball post. <3 I'd have thanked you in comments there, but didn't want to risk seeing what was behind the cut, lol! Concern for my mental well being is most appreciated!
So, the last couple of days have been really really stressful, BUT, it all ended well as we got ourselves a new apartment. :) It's a one bedroom at the place where my sis and brother in law live, and where Justin (said BIL, I'm just tired of spelling that out, lol) works. Cozied right up against the mountains, lots of trees, nice private porch and lots of sunlight, friendly neighbors, deer randomly wander in and out of the area,it's quiet, Old Colorado City is right around the corner; the hippy artist part of town <3 This is the area we plan to look for our first home in after about a year or so living in the Springs. We pass a lot of cute little houses all the times, and are looking forward to that! All in good time. :)
I'm really relieved in a lot of ways. We and our pets are welcome, and the other place we were really considering before they read their own pet policy is on Powers. That area -although all very new- is a treeless wasteland of cookie cutter housing and shopping centers. Hills and condos even block the view of the mountains, and the vibe was just... I dunno, kinda weird. Lots of cop cars. We were hopeful out of desperation, but ultimately I'm glad we didn't get it. This is worlds better for lots of reasons, screw the second bedroom.
Justin said he can help us grab a 2 bedroom when one opens up, but we'll see if we feel like moving again when that happens nice as a reptile room would be. :P We're saving money this way anywhos, it's still bigger than our old place and much nicer (our old apt got 33% approval on apartmentratings.com, this one got 80%), nice and private so no more people pressing their faces against our windows. There's even free cable included! Justin is also a master of Craigslist-fu and is helping us gather furniture we need. He already has a computer desk for us and a bike I can borrow if I need for work! The man's got skillz! He and Heather are even lending us their spare TV till we get one of our own. Thank you, guys!
And thank you Mom for putting up with teh bunny related allergies and letting us crash here for so long. We never intended for it to take this long, and we really appreciate everything you've done for us. <3 Also, thank you Chewie for proviting mass amounts of entertainment. ;D We're all a bunch of homebodies and I hope that eventually we can help encourage each other to get out and be more social. Also, Heather, maybe we can encourage each other to use the gym by doing it at the same time to hang out! I know I need it :P Although, being on the top floor, I think we'll be getting lots of exercise that way too, lol! I feel for the poor movers, I really do.
We're not moving the critters till we have our stuff more or less here, and we can bunny proof and decide where everything goes. This way they won't be in the way of the movers. I'm really excited to have our own place again, to explore the area over there, and get settled in. Jai Ganesha!
