Back! Mostly! The computer is, as far as we can tell, at least 97% better. The moniter shuts itself off occassionally and won't come back on without a reboot, but after we returned the computer to factory condition the internet, browsers, etc and so on have been functioning normally again. Yay for external drive! All the important stuff is backed up on this adorable lil My Book which I adore. So, I am more or less back!
I've actually been technically back for a couple of days, but we've been busy. So LJ cuts for all!
AV weekend... I finally got Kahani the full BG set and her second BG axe, which rids her of all green gear and has her all in purples with a couple of blues. And if I never enter another battleground again, it'll be too soon. :P Nothing like listening to kids bitch and moan sprinkled with casual homophobia and making light of rape for a whole weekend. So... freaking... painful. I paid for that gear. BGs can be a lot of fun with a good mature and positive group, which does happen from time to time. But more often than not, it's full of angry punks who whine the whole time. AV is one of the worst for that, but you also get the most honor for it. The layout is biased against Horde, so wins are rough, but losses happen a lot faster when the chat box is full of the usual garbage about how we've lost before we've even started. Urgh. I did report at least one person for hate speech. Not that the GMs will do anything, but whatever.
So, I got the two items I was needing, got nice and gemmed, and will go back to enjoying my alts again. I need to run Kahani through dailies cause she's running very low on cash after all the gems and spoiling the alts on SoE, so I'll get to that too. But Zufli is just a couple of lvls away from Shadow Form, which rocks, and I do want to get my mage Chrysaor his pony and the ability to port. And Exo and Doshas too need attention. Exo is the highest of my alts, but Zufli isn't far behind. <3 Those 4 have been my main alts lately, split evenly between Horde and Alliance although I always feel like I'm on enemy territory on my Allies. I actually play that up with Chrys the friendly Eredar and Zufli the Voodoo Draenei. I have more, serious alt-itis, but these are the guys who currently have my attention.
I did finally roll a Gnome, and she amuses me enough that I'll keep her. She's lvl 10 and will probably stay there a long while, but she's a sweet little old lady Twilight Cultist warlock. <3 Both my warlocks are very low lvl, but Mom is pwning with hers. All in all, obsessing! And just so damn happy that AV weekend is over and Kahani managed to get what she needed!
We tried to do some serious apt hunting on Sat, only to find that the pet restrictions in the Springs are insane! Rabbits are on everybody's "No way in hell" list, and a lot of places say just two pets *total*. As an example, we were told if you have a cat and say a lizard in a tank... the lizard counts into the paid pet deposit and as your second pet. God help people who are fish enthusiasts in this town that don't own their own home. 2 to a tank, apparently! We know better than to use the "s" word, people are weird about snakes, but rabbits? Seriously? They're as clean and quiet as a cat! And do about as much damage to carpets as a cat in our experience. We found this very depressing and ended up driving through Garden of the Gods to lift our spirits... man that worked! So beautiful. I'll take my camera next time. We just drove through it. It's been so long we were really blown away.
We do have options still and are remaining optimistic. Pretty much everywhere is a lot bigger than where we were before, even the one bedrooms. The place where my sister and bro-in-law live IS pet friendly and has some very nice layouts. It's a tad out of our price range though and a good distance from Karen's work. So, that's tricky but possible depending on what kind of work I can find. Also, Karen's new boss's sister rents homes and is super pet friendly, we just don't have the details on that yet. We're really hoping we can rent a small house or townhouse, not sure but we'll get it sorted soon as we really miss our stuff and want to set the bunnies loose again. I miss my cuddle monster sitting on the floor with me.
We know that this is where we're supposed to be and that it will all fall into place. We'll find a place to live, even if it's just for a while, and get our things out of storage and our bunnies on the move. It's all just going not quite as planned, is all. And certainly not as fast as planned. :P But it's awesome to be here with my family and this gorgeous weather/scenery! Even just walking out of the movie theatre was stunning, with an amazing view of Pikes Peak through the fountain. Wow.
Tomorrow is Ganesha Chaturthi, and I'll be focusing a lot of energy there.
So, some new people moved in next door and Mom is not pleased. I don't blame her. Cigarette smoke has started drifting in the windows, and they've hung a washed out American flag in the window of their front door. There's similar flags on the creepy dirty white giant serial killer van parked in their driveway. Fun! So far they're quiet though, so that's something... not less creepy, but something.
Speaking of movies, Karen and I finally saw Dark Knight last night! Wow... brilliantly done, across the board. It almost makes up for the atrocity that was Batman & Robin. Mark Hamil has always been my favorite Joker. Heath Ledger is now even with him. The two interpretations can't even really be compared, except that I adore them both. Heath's was easily the scariest Joker I've ever seen, and most realistic. They skillfully played the whole Order vs Chaos theme like a violin, which is really the heart of the whole Batman/Joker relationship. We were not disappointed. It's so awful that Heath's not around to do it again in the next film.
I also found myself a bit distracted as one of my muses was all fanboy over Gary Oldman. The focus on Commissioner Gordon was wonderful, he's so 'every man' as Karen put it. And the whole Harvey Dent thing... wow. It all fell perfectly into place in the insane way only Gotham can. I was also delighted by the Scarecrow's cameo! YAY! There was so not enough of him in the last movie.
So, yes. Love. No surprises there. ;P
I think that covers everything for now, catching up wise... more to come though, I'm sure! And now to catch up on comments. :)
