And as the sunrise stream flickers on me

Been busy the last couple of days, much pestering of Amarin (good to see you, stranger!) and her family and getting outside because it's SO nice! 78 degrees, lovely breeze, blue skies... Mmm, the gorgeousness before the scorch. Got a bigger better Kricket Keeper and better cricket feed, healthier bugs for a healthier Dana. Also got a picture keychain and put a pic of Dana in one side and Ma-tsu in the other so when people give me a blank stare at "Jeweled Lacerta" or "Blue Beauty" (which they always do after asking what I have) I can just show them!

I went out to the Pea Park on Monday (I don't know it's real name, we call it that because of all the peafowl that wander around there) and sat down by a bunch of guinea fowl and pied peacocks watching a feral rabbit nibble at the grass there. God, it felt good to be outside and get some fresh air. A lady was trying to get the bunny (who looked like an abandoned rex, beautiful though very thin with very mussed shedding fur. That park is full of abandoned "Easter bunnies" gone feral) to come closer with the birdfeed but he wasn't having it. After she wandered off I watched him a while and he kept sitting up and looking around like he thought he saw something scary. Then he bolted right toward me! He stopped a foot from my feet and stared at me. I used some of the bunny speak I know from living with lagamorphs and took a seat basically letting him know with my gestures and expressions that I'm harmless, calm, and not gonna bother him. What does he do? He flopped over, relaxed, and gave a big sleepy yawn. *melter* If I tried to get any closer, he'd make like he was gonna get up so I'd sit back down and he'd relax again. I talked to him for a bit before his friend a huskier calico rabbit joined us. He'd seemed lonely and I was glad to keep him company while he waited for his friend.

Funny, I was so desperate to get out of the apartment and what do I do when I finally get outside? Sit with a couple of bunnies. Like I do at home. LOL. But it felt really good, and all these cool birds wandered around me and the air and atmosphere... very nice. I need to get out and do this more while I still can, before it turns 115 degrees and stepping outside is instant death.

Not today though. :P The red tide has hit me like a ton of bricks. Pamprin is not making a dent, so gonna mostly be parked right here today.
