my favorite pants finally give out...
i have been very very surprised at the length of life on my favorite pair of denim dockers, had since i was 19 years old at asu. they have been in regular rotation for *that* many years (regular for me meaning every 2 weeks or so).
today as i returned from lunch, the seat tore as i sat down to my desk chair. :(
they have just been in excellent shape all these years (yeah, a bit of fraying at the ankle, but i don't care).
they were the most comfortable pants!
i used to wear them with a white cableknit sweater and moccasins.
well, i have new black suede moccasins recently purchased from paris, and i've been through 3 sweaters of similar style since then, i still have one pair of those tan moccasins (back then i knew i'd want them forever so i bought two pairs).
i remember fighting with my dry cleaner about my first linen shirts as they fell apart after a few years. i'm resigned of course that eventually all linen falls apart, but i do hate it.
