Been so long
So it's been an age since I last posted; been wallowing in a crazy world of rushing about, doing applications, going to interviews and generally being about.
Rapid update of things that have been going on
1) got law school results and I kicked ass. Got a distinction overall and came top of my (small) class. How do ya like them apples?!
2) been applying for many many jobs. Had a final interview for one firm that I would love to work at. I'd kill to work at. I'd give anything to work at. Should hear back at the end of the week. Got a bunch of other interviews lined up but I want this one soooo bad. Gonna be hard to accept rejection.
3) one of my upcoming interviews is in Bristol so I'm going off to hang out with Laura for a few days with a nice all expenses paid trip down there. Will have to go to the interview too, but we're gonna have some fun times too!
4) my aunties have all gone home to Malaysia now. It was great having them hear and it reminds me how nice it is to have the family around. We did hang out a lot and ate a lot of curry. My aunty Gladys cooks the best curries!
5) While my aunts were here we all went to see Chicago in the West End. It was amazing. The singing and dancing and stage show was amazing.
6) Seen both Horrible Bosses and Captain America recently. Liked them both. Captain America was ultra cheesy, bring me a sick bag, at times but generally good. Lots of stuff blew up. Classic summer blockbuster. Horrible Bosses was funny in places but as usual the funniest parts were in the trailer.
7) Booked flights to LAX for a two week trip in early December. My friend Laura is running the Vegas marathon so we're doing 2 days in LA, 4 in Vegas and then a week and a bit roadtripping around California. Cannot wait!
And a word on the crazy shit going down in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool. It's so shocking to see on the tv, especially around places that I go all the time. I was looking at apartments to move into in Clapham just last week. It's craziness! These kids are running rampant all over the place, looting and rioting for no real reason. I know to start with it was about the death of Mark Duggan but it's not about that any more. Now it's just an excuse for these kids. All the reports seem to indicate it's teenagers and the police seem to be incapable of stopping it. Looks like another night of looting and burning tonight. I feel so bad for the people who are losing their homes and livelihood over this. I mean it's bad for the companies who are having their shops looted, but those little mom and pop shops that have been burnt are probably never going to get back on their feet.
It really makes me sad.
