[This is a first. Most people aren't this enthused to speak with him.]

[I pushed a 10 year old girl off a building leading to her subsequent demise, tried to convince Pakis-tan that the Doctor was the nefarious villain in charge of Avon, Impersonated Break in the process, I convinced Alice not only that I was her friend but also that I was trapped in the device and she needed to get me out, I gouged out my maid's eye with my finger, Struck Roshian with a stone, and put miscellaneous items in front of a blind person to watch them trip and fall--, had the previous Trancy Earl murdered, I'm posing as their son so I can have the title, oh and I'm plotting revenge against a certain butler for killing my brother. That last one is also the something I have regrets about and need to make right. HE WILL PAY for killing Luka.]

[But-- it's not like I can tell you any of this...]

Then you're the only one here with any sort of taste. [Thinks quite highly of himself] I may have.. [Is smirking right now at the thought of all his prior offenses] Who is without regrets? [And leaves the last question alone]

[I'm an immortal God who has existed for thousands of years who feeds off of hatred and waged an almost endless war against everything in existence. I committed every atrocity imaginable on every moral and idealistic scale. Every single thing that a mortal like you could ever consider an evil act pales in comparison to what I once savored each afternoon. The only thing that stopped me were four warriors hired by my enemies to strike me down and I wish nothing but death upon their reincarnated forms. Once I have their swords I can break the curse they cast on me before they died and I can truly become a force of evil once more. The only hesitation in my mind is the other emotions that I've learned to feel. Lerene... That was a mistake, I let her get close to me. And now Delaine wishes to do the same, but I can't help but feel I'll make the same terrible choice all over again in the end. Now I can't even bring myself to take pride in my hatred, there's only guilt in that emotion. If only I could break this curse, or complete it...]

Oh, I haven't done all that much with my life. I'm just very old and very boring most of the time. I've got some emotional baggage, enough to be dramatic, but I'm not sure how interested you'd be in that sort of thing.

[There's a slightly forced chuckle from the other end of the line]

Maybe we can swap stories over coffee at some point?

At least you're aware of it. [Most people have to be told that they're boring. Though Alois isn't sure he buys that Kyran has done nothing with his life]

Try tea, if you can find a decent cup in this place.

I've never had tea before coming here. Does chai count? I don't think it does. Maybe you could start a tea selling business? If you know a lot about it you could easily dominate the market.

Chai is a tea... [How can he not be familiar with tea...] Why the hell would I do something so pathetic as that. [Besides, you would need a source for the tea to begin with... and someone who cared enough to run it, and Alois wasn't exactly an expert]

To me you seem like the type who likes to do as they please. You know, someone who enjoys having multiple sources of income. It's even sillier than I am to turn down a chance to advance above the others. Even that sweet little Mary is essentially rolling in cash since she works so hard. Can you really let that slide?

[He smirks, both baiting and advising the boy. With a little luck he could create enough disruption for some real fun]

You're pretty observant. [He has a bit of a point. It would be amusing to rise above the others. That however would lead to his leaving the tenant housing when he received enough funds-- a prospect he was quite mixed on. With Having his own house would show them all, yet-- as much as he snarked at them or was at odds with the other tenants he secretly didn't want to be completely alone. Without an income he didn't have to make a decision.] It hardly matters if she has more resources here than I.. in our own times my position is secured.

[Were it not for his own indecision, Kyran's baiting would be more effective]

Thank you! You're quite the keen observer yourself. I could use someone like you in my organization, someone cunning and clever and witty. Perhaps we can work together some time?

[And thus the same was afoot, and Kyran strums his fingers against his leg as he contemplates how best to structure his slowly expanding entourage of villainous cohorts and minions. Surely this boy could at least be counted on to be an informant if handled properly. And if not, he needed a child to look over his plans for obvious flaws. Would Alois accept payment in cookies? He hopes so.]

[Alois is finding Kyran amusing, he thinks he might like this guy. Flattery never hurts.] You must realize that someone of my caliber tends to work alone or with my own associates, [He means his servants here..] my aide would come at a price. What sort of an organization is it anyway?

[Cookies were so not what he had in mind-- but he's also thinking that Kyran might be of use to him at some point. He's under the impression that this guy could be easily manipulated even though he hasn't figured out that Kyran is the one trying to do the manipulating currently.]

[The childish glee in Kyran's voice is all too apparent as he speaks.]

Well, I just think that what this place is really missing is an evil group actively trying to stir things up and cause trouble. To advance the plot through conflict, so to speak. I've worked with all sorts of people, so having solo agents or people on commission isn't a new concept. I'm sure we can work something out.

[He smiles to himself]

Do you know of anyone else who might possess sharp enough wits and a strong enough desire for mischief?

[You have to admire his enthusiasm. He wasn't entirely sure what Kyran meant about an "evil group" but whatever. It sounded like it might be beneficial so why flatly rule it out.]

Avon does seem to be lacking in such influences originating from those drawn here.. [He agreed] And I do like the sound of that last bit.

Not a bloody single person in this whole godforsaken place.

Well, we can worry about a team at a later date while we get things moving. I hereby dub you the head of the Espionage Department AND the field commander in charge of special operations. The first order of business is to find an awesome office since Asagi won't let me use our room.

I'm always careful! Except for when I'm not, but it usually works out anyway when that happens. Except for when I ended up here, but things have been pretty OK so far!

I think we might be OK with using your suggestion, I'll be on the look out for a free space!
