[He resumes his random button pressing and sets the device back down, sitting on the edge of the bed and folding his arms, still confused but seemingly amused by the situation]
So, this is some kind of communicator... Hi there, person. I'm Lord Kyran, and who might you be?
[He smiles and nods, his hat quivering slightly for a moment on top of his head in the reverse direction of what one would expect. He glances upwards for a moment and blinks before turning his attention back to the screen.]
I remember those years well! That was when Christopher Columbus sailed around the world, right?
[He blinks and looks at the screen]
You seem really tired, is it past your bed time? I've never been good with kids, mine tend to take care of themselves for the most part. Usually. Except Nyos, who I'm pretty sure is plotting to kill me. Sleep is beneficial, too! You get to have dreams and stuff!
No, that was a very long time ago. This is when Queen Victoria ruled.
It's been a rather long week, that's all. [He didn't need to know that she had died and come back, right?] I apologize. I'm normally much more animated than than I am right now.
Ah, yes! A time when villains were truly respected! When evil overlords could truly clash against the forces of good! And candy had only just begun to be properly refined! It-
[He stops suddenly and tenses, fidgeting for a moment and trying to hold his hat steady. It begins shaking more and a tail protruds from underneath]
Uh... Yeah, so this sounds like a really interesting place.
[He mumbles something under his breath that sounds like "stop it" and his hat falls motionless. Looking back at the screen he tries to brush aside the painfully obvious fact that he's hiding something]
[She decides to elegantly dodge that particular question. She wasn't sure if it was bad or not herself, and she didn't want to lie. Instead she decided to focus on what Kyran was hiding.]

Nothing unusual here at all. Nope. Entirely ordinary. On a completely unrelated note, perhaps I should excuse myself?
A kitchen! With tea! This place has everything, doesn't it? Does it have proper lighting installed?
[He seems almost giddy to the point where for most people it would be a forced reaction, but the idiocy in his grin makes it reasonably believable that he's sincerely excited about the prospect of tea in a kitchen]
I don't believe that there is anyone by the name of Delaine here, luckily for you.
This is Avon, and we're all stuck here. You seem awfully calm about this whole experience.

[She's really not paying attention, and as such, misses the hat wiggle.]
There are strange things in the forest, but they don't attack.
Everyone hears those odd voices and sees those shadows out of their eyes when they're alone.
[She keeps up her smile, but she still looks like she's ready to go to sleep.]

Perhaps when you are done, you might meet me in the kitchen for a cup of tea? I can explain more about this place.
