I feel like I've spent a small fortune on Ryanair of late (ugh) but actually, counting up the 5 (yes 5) separate flights I've booked, they're not cumulatively too expensive. Which is the one and only reason I still use Ryanair, of course

Fair, if you're on an environmental perspective. However it's a lot less than one businessman can do in a single week, and it's not like I do this regularly (hence the post).
For me, it's going to be organisational hell but worth it, so hope you won't be condemnatory even if you're not commendatory.

I do think the environmental aspect is important, and don't think 'other people do it more' is a good excuse.

That's fair, but the post was not put up to invite criticism of my plans, so please let's end this discussion now amicably.
I am usually extremely careful of my carbon footprint, and this is an exceptional circumstance, so I don't want to feel defensive over it.

Lucy: I'm very sorry, I was snap-reacting earlier and didn't give you a considered response which you deserved, please accept my apology. Of course I take your point about the environmental problem, and I am not enjoying the amount of upcoming flights. The happiness in my post was only about the upcoming experiences, not the method of reaching them, and I will undertake to try to offset my footprint which will be unusually high this year

Perhaps, but I work hard to afford the holidays I take, and I save up for them, so again I don't wish to be made to feel defensive about this. Please let's not discuss this further to save anger.
