I feel like I've spent a small fortune on Ryanair of late (ugh) but actually, counting up the 5 (yes 5) separate flights I've booked, they're not cumulatively too expensive. Which is the one and only reason I still use Ryanair, of course

I do prize my holidays as life experiences and unfortunately the world is geared to flying: I did look into non-plane alternatives but they're frighteningly expensive and take day(s) sometimes which I can't afford holiday-wise. I probably adapt too readily to the ease of flying, and you're absolutely right to remind me not to be blasé about it.
I apologise if I sounded crass. That's not usually me.
But I do love to travel and the 'travel bug' is not done with me, so all I can apologise for is being casual about the method but not the will or the experiences it renders, which are wonderful and make my life immensely richer. Also, I don't take the expense lightly: it's not like I'm able to, on a publishing salary, so please don't feel I'm treating these experiences as frequent rights: each is special to me, and enjoyed to the full.
