The latest chapter of KHR made me, in equal parts, flail excitedly and facepalm. Mostly just because I had no idea what other reaction to have. As I mentioned over at
makeste's journal, Hibari fights just don't normally excite me, if only because as the "Strongest Guardian" and Curb Stomp Personified, there's no tension, no potential of, "Maybe he won't survive/win this time!" or "Let's see what kind of strategy/insanity he'll pull out to win!"
Come-from-behind battles are the shounen standard, and I've been desensitized to them for nearly a decade, now, but that doesn't stop the fact that when they're done well, or when you get the rare "everyone-is-on-equal-footing" fight, it's my all-time favorite kind of battle. So, Hibari, I love you, I do. But normally you just don't do it for me.
...on the other hand, apparently small creatures with entertaining reactions and pompadours will do it for me, so. Also, ice clones and the chance to make a million Waldo jokes basically saved this fight for me. NOW IF IT WILL JUST END SOON SO WE GET THE NEXT GIOTTO/COZART FLASHBACK, I WILL BE A HAPPY.
In other news! It's gotten steadily colder. :( I don't think I have enough warm clothes to layer anymore, ahaha. ....D:
Also, I've been running low on groceries, so I decided to try some new recipe that is supposed to be good to nibble on while you're running/walking/busy with something else. I have no idea what it's called, and I'm sure it would taste good! ...if I made it properly. Apparently I put in too much glutinous rice flour, so instead of being just sticky enough to stick together without being crumby, instead I ended up with some kind of weird gooy, squishy things. And as if that wasn't bad enough, I didn't have any jam/fresh fruits/ground beef to eat it with, and completely forgot that if there was a chance I'd use it as a more desert-y dish, I should have added in the cocoa powder in the mixing stages. Sigh.
It turned out alright, at least, though the texture was... um. Anyway, this isn't nearly as bad as the time that I accidentally gave myself food poisoning, so all's good here! And I still had some rice and chicken bouillon, and I think I still have some popcorn chicken in the freezer, SO. Dinner. Not as elegant as I had wanted, but I can deal, I suppose.
