maggie has been freaking out all night. for some reason she keeps barking at the door. it kindof makes me scared since dogs can see ghosts and all. she never barks, so it's really weird that she has barked so many times tonight. anyway, this morning my alarm clock didn't go off and i'm worried that it won't go off tomorrow morning. i can't be ( Read more... )

You are lucky to have been able to surf and lay on the beach every summer.
I surely can imagine having a job...right now I have two. It is extremely humbling to realize what my parents, and the rest of humanity, have to do for me to get my "daily bread."

Unless your parents are willing to support you the rest of your life, you should just get a job, any job, next summer. It will REALLY motivate you to keep going to law school because believe me it SUCKS to put in 11 hour days for shit money. It makes you realize how lucky you are, but also how you should probably just buck up on school and become motivated! Love you Cassie! Good luck.

ana, obviously i can imagine having A job right now...i just mean i can't imagine choosing the job that i'm going to have for the rest of my life. and of course i'll have a job next summer, i just don't want it to be at a law firm. i obviously realize how lucky i am, i, like many people, am just not sure i'm ready to start working in an office right now. i'm just stressed about all these decisions, no reason to act like i'm a child.

I really wasn't acting like you are a child...I really thought you meant can anyone imagine having A job. And I really meant that having a job recently for me is humbling because I was being supported by my mom prior to that, so I would have to have included myself in the child category, and that isn't the case. I'm sorry if I came across like that, I really didn't mean it in that way. I just thought maybe you never had a job...I didn't for the majority of my adult life.

and for the record...i've had a job from the time i could drive to when i left for school and then every summer after that. it was a babysitting service so it's not like i was working construction or anything, but it was still work. i'm not trying to start a little live journal fight or whatever, but i was just kindof offended by your comment.

Oh yea, I totally forgot about your babysitting job...see you have worked way more than me and I'm not a child. I'm sorry I misunderstood that you meant a permanent job...really. Cassie...there is no reason for me to insult you, I think you're really great and not childish at all. My comment had a lot more to do with my recent experience with work and how time consuming and reality-check it is for me not to have time to see my friends or anything else.
