Buy a tarot reading/rootwork, help my blind cat!! Signal boost requested.

Last night, I came home from the store and found that my cat had gone blind. And no, that's not a euphemism for anything.

I have 2 cats: Kira is my 4 year old little black cat, curious girl, into everything, and I picked her out of the box o'kittens at Animal Control when she just fit in the palm of my hand. Sherbert is 10, a fat orange-and-white tabby who is perfectly happpy to lie in sunbeams and get endless skritches around the neck.

When I saw my baby girl Kira cautiously walking towards the sound of my voice looking like this:

I about had a stroke. It was 9:20pm. I found the # of the emergency vet which was In the Middle of Nowhere, New Hampshire and drove Kira there. The very kind people examined her and said "Well, it could be glaucoma or a bunch of other Scary Stuff."

On top of this, I was recovering from bronchitis, which had caused me to miss 2 days of work that week. So I'm crying in the vet's office while trying not to hack my lungs out all over the table, and I'm not being very successful.

We did bloodwork on Kira; it was negative for FeLV and such (I expected it, she's strictly indoors, but I do volunteer at a cat shelter so it's possible that my cats could contact feral cat germs). The vet recommended I see a cat opthalmologist ASAP and gives her eyedrops for inflammation. Total bill: $197.

We go home. Kira nibbles at food very well and tentatively feels her way around the apartment. I manage to get her eyedrops in before she bites my hand off.

This morning: Very little sleep, drink A Ton of Coffee. Kira is calm, only gets cranky when I touch her face. Sherbert has no problems with his eyes. I take Kira to a vet hospital in MA: again, very nice people. Mercifully, they measure her eye pressure and she doesn't have glaucoma. Diagnosis for now is uveitis, an infection/inflammation of the eyes that can be caused by bacteria, viruses, cancer (!) or a lot of other things which require tests.
I have a good job that pays weekly (I'm a nurse) but I'm paying off a lot of credit card debt now and have high rent; I don't have much to spare. I opt for getting all the blood tests and urine tests, and getting her eyedrops. They will call me with results. And we'll go from there. The doctor says if we find out quickly what is causing her blindness, we might be able to save her vision. Might. Total bill: $455.

HOW CAN YOU HELP: If times are tough, please don't help monetarily. Say a prayer for Kira and tell me that you did. I would appreciate that a lot. Light a candle for her, if you're into that.

If you're not the praying type of person, just be kind to an animal today for Kira's sake.

I have a tarot and rootwork business of my own at Mary Bee Conjure:

http://www.marybeeconjure.com

If you purchase a reading there, all proceeds are going towards Kira's medical bills.

Or if you'd rather not have a reading/rootwork done, you may donate a buck or two if you're a cat lover:

I've been working so hard on paying off my credit card debt; I only had about $13K left to go and lately, it seems I get some crisis that knocks out my savings or forces me to use my credit cards again.

Whatever you lend towards Kira, if it's prayers or funds, I humbly thank you, because I love her. I hate asking for help, but I love my cat. Thanks for listening.

cats, help
