The Summer of George

Jul 06, 2006 02:16

My constant search for instant gratification leads me to some dead ends from time to time. A string of great luck is suddenly snapped due to greediness on my part. Call it sabotage if you will, but it's hardly intentional.

Latest example:

I left a really fun work environment full of beautiful and interesting people for a hasty desire to shorten my drive and increase my profits. Just to save a couple bucks a week I left a job I loved. Granted I only transfered to a new location, but this location is full of old, uptight, and so far humorless people. However I DO work with Thom Yorke and Ray Davies lookalikes.

That's of no interest to you though.

On to better things of more importance and interest...

I'm seeing the above-mentioned Ray Davies on the 16th and it's general admission and I'm going to mind his gap, if you know what I mean.

Okay a quick reappearance of uninteresting blather:

I had a perfect day the other day. One of those rare days in which you go to bed smiling. It was such a simple boring day spent perfectly alone, but you need those. You really do.

-Materials needed for a perfect day:
1 ipod
1 sketchbook
1 pencil
1 epic location (in this case just a beach)(I shouldn't say "just" because a beach is pretty damn epic. The sea is infinite from that spot...and there's an island to behold, by George, and I loves me a good island)
1 self

I'm not going to lie. I spent three hours drawing maps of imaginary lands. It's my worst habit(and I have a few).

Okay one last thing to spark your interest before I go:

Examine your keyboard for a moment and see if you can find the flower.

PS. Roger Waters cowers before the shining beacon of genius that is Syd Barrett. No battles.
