Hello! After so many months, I was able to finally translate their cross talk in NHK Stella for 2018! This is only a part of their feature so I'll post more soon. Maybe next week? haha
Memo: During the photoshoot, the two of them were having a friendly chat.
Hikaru: Inochan, you went on a location shoot today?
Inoo: Yup! How about you, Hikaru?
Hikaru: Only Rajira!
Inoo: It was quite hot in the afternoon!
Hikaru: The weather was good, huh.
Etc. etc.
You’ve been doing Rajira for 4 years
Hikaru: Our 4th year went by fast.
Inoo: I want to tell my past self, who just started doing this radio program, that time flies so fast. (laughs)
Hikaru: It was really fast. We did a lot of projects here too. 「Serious Talk in the Library*」and such are nostalgic. We both did female roles there, right? (*Reciting a scene from a book corner)
Inoo: It was a fresh project indeed.
Hikaru: I liked「Edo JUMP de gozaru! *」as well. The *shakin* sound of a slashing sword at the end felt good. (*A corner where Inoo and Hikaru will slash an incident, which a listener wants to forget, using a sword)
Inoo: I like talking with the listeners through the telephone. For the particular reason that this is a radio show, that’s why we can do this kind of thing. We were able to talk with a foreigner too.
Hikaru: We did our best in English. (laughs)
Inoo: Yeah! We had many concerts on Saturdays this year, so there were a lot of times when we had to hurry and do the radio show in the concert venue right after the show ended, right?
Hikaru: We broadcasted from a lot of places. The staffs troubled themselves to come as well.
Inoo: While we were having our concert rehearsals, the Rajira staffs were already preparing for the radio show in the local NHK broadcast stations, concert venue, hotel, and such.
Hikaru: We also experienced starting a live broadcast on the car using mobile phones while we were on the way to the studio.
Inoo: I think it’s more likely for people to work negatively with irregular situations like these, but the staffs think of various things to make the situation positive. I am thankful for that.
Hikaru: I am too.
Inoo: During the times when we had to start the radio show using mobile phones, the staffs are on standby in the studio if ever the signal falls. Conversely, I kind of wanted to see that situation (of the staffs having to do the radio show while Inoo and Hikaru aren’t connected).
Hikaru: No, no, no…
Inoo: Speaking of a situation, Hikaru forgot his bass today. (laughs) The staffs even told you to bring it because you will play the bass today, and yet you forgot.
Hikaru: I’m sorry… NHK-san, I will borrow your bass.
JUMP members are on full cooperation as well
Inoo: Recently, the members have been guesting on Rajira a lot too.
Hikaru: The atmosphere changes, right?
Inoo: Even just adding another member completely changes the atmosphere.
Hikaru: When the 8 of us did the radio show, it was so lively and noisy that maybe it was just like how it is in the MC during our concerts.
Inoo: There are various types (of personalities) among the members, so when they guest in our radio show, I try to balance everything. As the receiving side, I want to properly explain the projects we’re doing for the broadcast. Sometimes we’ve been talking too seriously but having a loose and friendly conversations is fun too.
Hikaru: Recently, the other members are better in seducing than us.
Inoo: Maybe we’ve been seducing every week, so there’s no freshness anymore… (laughs)
Hikaru: Yuya consecutively went to our radio show and his service spirit saved us.
Inoo: We’re very thankful. We, ourselves, fairly invite them to come.
Hikaru: Right, we do.
Inoo: We ask them like, “Are you coming today?” (laughs) Takaki will definitely say, “what should I do?” Then after some time have passed, he would worriedly behave like “I haven’t decided yet.” However, he would say at the very last minute, “Guess I’ll come~!”
Hikaru: (laughs)
Inoo: Daichan would say, “I’ll come next week,” and calculatingly reserves his attendance in advance. But, he’s the worst in reality. He particularly reserves his attendance when Hikaru and I would do the radio show in the concert venue. Just on times when we don’t move (to a studio)?! (laughs)
Hikaru: (bursts into laughter) Chinen always comes too. Among the members, I think he’s the one who listens to our radio show the most.
Inoo: Indeed. There were a lot of mails from him saying, “I just listened (to your radio show)”
A fun program with your listeners
Inoo: We can hold our radio shows in different places… guests came to our broadcast… I think there were many new things that we were able to do particularly because of Rajira.
Hikaru: We were able to hold a public live broadcast in Sendai as well. Having the audience respond to what we said or did is something new, right? It was also fun to say, “konbawaffoi,” with the audience.
Inoo: We were able to do a sightseeing campaign and an earthquake disaster reconstruction-related event in Miyagi, but somehow the closing event was doing a live broadcast for Rajira in front of the audience.
Hikaru: We’d like to do various projects where people, who don’t know us or parents and children, can enjoy listening to from now on as well.
Inoo: It is certainly important to create projects for our fans, but it is also important to create projects that could be enjoyed by a wide range of people like the elderly and such.
Hikaru: What I find amazing every time is whenever I say that I have hay fever or when Inochan has oral inflammation, listeners would send tweets such as methods to cure it. It makes me very happy that the listeners respond to what we say.
Inoo: I think we could also learn about the different ways to face people and their way of thinking (because of the interaction with listeners).
Hikaru: For example, whenever we introduce a mail which says the listener’s worries, we can say our opinion regarding the topic. Through the radio show, we can give our support and connect with people we don’t even know. I think that is an amazing thing.
Inoo: It’s really amazing when our words spread, and people react on them. I think the interesting thing about our radio show is that it’s also connected to Twitter that’s why I would like to think of more fun projects from now on too.
Hikaru: It would be fun if we could do a collaboration or shuffle with people from other time slots such as Yasui-kun, Takahashi-kun, and Sexy Zone.
Inoo: Hikaru would have to distribute the assigned time and invite everyone to do the shuffle… Will you be okay with that?
Hikaru: When that time comes, I’ll do my best!
Inoo: Can you do it? ~
Hikaru: I’ll do my best…
Inoo: (laughs) I’d really like to do a collaboration project too. With strong feelings, I want to challenge doing different things.
Hikaru: As JUMP, I want to improve and polish our dance, and do our best individually in the music aspect. From now on as well, please treat me well.
