I would suggest going to a place like Dick's Sporting Goods and just trying out the machines. They can get very expensive, so make sure you really like it. Then you can shop around once you know what you like. If you want to combine everything into one workout, you may want to try step aerobics with hand weights, kick boxing, Tae Bo, or a circuit training video. I think you can find these at a library. That way you won't have to buy one without knowing if you like it. If you subscribe to Netflix, they also have pretty good selection. My favorite instructor so far is Cathe Friedrich at Cathe.com. You can preview some of the DVDs before you buy them and even purchase some of the equipment you'll need on her website.
Thanks, doll. Right now, I am using a few Gunnar Peterson DVDs, but I am definitely on the look out for more. I really want to work yoga into my weekly workout, too. It's always hard to decide where to start as there are millions of DVDs, books and other resources out there.
MTV Yoga is actually very difficult. I had trouble the first time that I did it. If you want to make sure you do yoga a few times a week and still start to tone up, you may also want to try a 20 minute yoga video with another totally separate video.
