I went to my philosophy discussion section this morning. It was frigid and snowy, and I have to trudge up Bascom Hill to get to class, so I was a couple minutes late. When I got to class, everyone was engaged in conversation. I stood by my chair unwinding my scarf and unbuttoning my coat, trying to figure out what they were talking about.

"It wouldn't be so bad if his comments weren't so unnecessary," someone said.
"So tangential!" someone added. "Like yesterday, with the 'pure randomness cannot exist because' thing?"
"Does he really think he knows more than our professor?"
"Is he an undergrad or a grad student?"

"I think he's an undergrad," our T.A. said. "A philosophy major, though, obviously. He's just--"

"-- he's just out of control!" I burst in.
Everybody started cracking up.

So apparently he annoys everyone else as much as he annoys me.

"I mean, who is this kid?" Emily asked, echoing my thoughts. "Some kind of philosophy Jedi?"
