Wow, he looks fantastic! I love the mold choice, and the faceup is just great. Perfect for Ty. What kind of wig is that? It looks really smooth and nice, and I love how closely it fits.

('tis the season for larger dolls of longtime characters, it seems like--a bigger, tanner Rom just arrived here too!)

The wig is "CRWML-30 (Milky Blond)" from Crobidoll. It really is super nice; very smooth and an awesome colour. I am pretty happy with him so far, and hope his body (when it comes eventually) will work as well. XD

And OMG Big!Rom? Congrats! Pictures~~~? Where? lol

Matching bodies to heads is so tough D: That's why Al may never succeed as an SD even though I have a head now... There's just no way to tell what's going to fit and/or match properly! It must be nice that you have so many others to compare to. What type are you looking at for Ty?

And there may be a few quick and crappy shots of new!Rom on my tumblr :D That's the faceup from the previous owner, so disregard that (I'll be doing some subtle mods as well as a repaint), but everything else... yum. Iplehouse Claude, SID, in realskin. Now to find some clothes for the poor boy!

lol it is! Matching bodies to heads... such a process... lots of comparison photos on DoA and analysing undertones (yellow or pink?!) of everything. *lesigh* and then just finding a body that you like that suits. I don't really have that many to compare to unless we're talking versions of Volks normal skins lol. I pretty much just do a lot of research and then take a chance. XD What is Al's SD-size head that you're trying to match?

And oh lord, an SID. XD Yes, they're enormous, aren't they?! gwendolinh has one. Such a lovely skin tone! lol I never imagined Rom being that... muscle-y. I think Ty's slightly intimidated. XD Congrats, though! That's awesome. :)

Al's newest head is a Souldoll Jang-Hwa--which is, in fact, a girl head. Making the body search all the more difficult. It's about the same size as Adrienne's, 8.5 inches, and a fairly dark, pinky-tone normal skin. So far I think Junior Delf is the closest to the right size, but I just plain don't like the body, and I wouldn't be willing to buy one without actually trying it out first. Fortunately, resin match is less of an issue. I have an airbrush now, and already blushed Kyu's head to match his new body, so minor adjustments in color are pretty easy.

You know what's funny? By himself, Rom is almost exactly the build I've always imagined him having--fairly buff, but average-looking with clothes on. The problem is that the doll industry standard is, and has always been, super, super skinny. So as soon as you see him around other dolls, or even if you're just used to seeing other bodies, he looks MASSIVELY built. I can't even imagine how big the EID superhero body must look in a group line-up!

Ahehehe... maybe true. I don't know if I'd call SD13 boys skinny, though, with their pudgy lil' tummies... :3 Iplehouse sure do like muscles, though.

I remember Con's colour, ya, very pink. I haven't seen the new luts 'real skin' colour yet, so not sure on that... my Loongsoul (Con's current body) also has a pink skin version... I can't remember if I ever really compared old Con and new Con, though... >> New Con is a lot paler, I think. Quite a unique colour, though... the Souldoll resin. XD But ya, if you have the airbrush, maybe it's just more of a matter of finding a body size you like. You ever consider a Volks SD10 body? It's about the same size as a Junior Delf, I think?

I've thought about SD10, but I'm not sure the proportions would work--Jang-Hwa is a very tiny head, and even SD10s are built for a pretty big noggin. I've also looked at the old Soom gem boy bodies, since they're almost the same size as their girls and I've put Adrienne on one of those. As I recall, it looked pretty great. But I'm a little wary of going for an older body design because I'm afraid I won't like handling him because I'm spoiled by all the double-joints in my life now. I don't know, it's all very complicated. I'm hoping that if I go to some bigger meetups I'll have the chance to actually try the head on some different bodies and see how it really looks.

I cannot stop drooling over this realskin tan. Rom is finally the color he's always been in my heart ;3;

Ever consider Angell Studio? They have a pink resin - not sure how the match would be, but they also have a custom resin matching program (http://www.angell-studio.com/en/?product-831.html). Aniqa's body can be a bit kicky, but all in all she's a good poser and has the double-joints. I've also seen the 1/3 boy body (not sure which one it was though - the muscled one I think) in person and it was really nice. They also have a non-muscled version... I hope he gets his big-boy body one day!
