The Five Doctors, Resurrection of the Daleks, Caves of Androzani, Mark of the Rani, and The Two Doctors.
Yes, bookending this post with multi-Doctor episodes was deliberate. I do sometimes think about how many I'm going to do before I post again.
I feel like I barely knew Five. I'll have to catch a few more of his on my second pass to get a better sense of him.
I didn't take to Six at first, but he's growing on me.
The Five Doctors
I have seen this one before, but I imagine a lot of things will make more sense this time through.
Oh look, the bit from 'Daleks Invasion of Earth'.
Have I mentioned that I like the question marks on Five's collar?
Two!
Whatever happened to Bessie?
Oh, Four and Romana. Why couldn't you have been in this for real?
"We can offer you..." // "Regeneration. A complete a new life cycle." // I've long assumed that something like this will become relevant when the Doctor gets through all of his bodies. Of course, it seems like Moffat wants him dead...even with two bodies to spare.
"A cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about." // That line sticks with me for some reason.
"I could easily kill you if I wanted to." // "And not humiliate me first? Oh, that isn't your style at all."
Susan has terribly weak ankles, doesn't she?
Wouldn't closing that box of scrolls put out the fire?
"Believe it or not, we were in the academy together." // And yet the Master has managed to burn through a whole life cycle. He must live even more irresponsibly than the Doctor does.
Ahhh. Jamie and Zoe!!!
I'd have preferred them to the Brigadier.
"Have faith, Brigadier. Have I ever led you astray?" // "On many occasions."
Okay, so does someone want to fanwank how Two found time, between Jamie and Zoe having their memories erased and his own sentencing to regeneration and exile, to go and visit the Brigadier at a reunion?
Hang on. How does the Brigadier know Tegan? They keep teasing me with these in-between bits.
Why should he feel the need to change into black robes?
"I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow." // Isn't that what they always do?
Sash, ring, coronet. Rassilon had all sorts of fancy accessories, didn't he?
I assume the other Doctors had to enable that trasmat? Otherwise why bother with all of that if you could just transmat to the last room?
I'd love to know how Rassilon came to be president again during the Time War.
"It's reassuring to know that my future is in safe hands." // Such a strange little paradox, these multi-Doctor episodes.
"You mean you're deliberately choosing to go on the run from your own people? In a rackety old TARDIS?" // "Why not? After all, that's how it all started."
Resurrection of the Daleks
This substitute for the electric scream sound is less than satisfactory. It's been going on a while now, but it's high time I mentioned it.
And none of the Doctors have looked quite like themselves in their title sequence pictures. ... Except for Troughton.
"Should we be boarded, destroy the prisoner." // It's not Davros, is it?
These Dalek reveals would be a little more exciting if the word Dalek weren't in the title.
Ha! Well, how about that? I never get anything right in the new ones.
Daleks always go in all guns a-blazin' ... unless it's the Doctor. If it'd been anyone else, he'd have been killed before that guy could turn up with the orders.
Also, did I miss a piece of this? The Doctor was cowering behind a wall at the end of the last one; now he's on the Dalek ship, apparently.
Oh, balls, they're out of order. Part 2 is labeled as part 3.
Good to hear Davros sounding menacing again.
Okay, you can scream "exterminate" fifty times, how about you start firing those lasers?
Daleks always go in all guns a-blazin' ... unless it's the Doctor. If it'd been anyone else, he'd have been killed before that guy could turn up with the orders.
Assassinating the High Council? I think this might be the first offensive action the Daleks have taken against the Time Lords. Time War marches on.
Ooh, it's like Bracewell.
Well, I was wondering if the virus would affect Davros, seeing as they're all originally Kaleds.
Caves of Androzani
I can't figure out what sort of accent that is. Sometimes she sounds almost American.
There's an explanation of the celery. Eleventh Hour Podcast actually spoiled that bit for me.
Peri's accent is really off-putting in the middle of all this British.
Beautiful face-to-face shot with Sharaz Jek and the Doctor.
Have I mentioned how incredibly creepy this Jek/Peri thing is?
And hello Six. I've heard little to nothing about Six, Seven, and Eight. Should be interesting.
Mark of the Rani
Well don't you look fabulous.
Hey, he's still got the question marks on the collar.
Oh, is the Master here as well?
That's disgusting.
Haven't been terribly interested in the companions lately. Peri isn't helping with that.
The Doctor could learn from the Rani. It'd save him a lot of trouble if he could remotely control his TARDIS.
I can't work out if Peri's an American with a regional accent that I don't recognize or a British person occasionally slipping out of an affected American accent.
The Two Doctors
Troughton seems to be going a bit gray.
And Jamie's face is getting lines.
But enough of me being picky about silly things. Disbelief, I suspend thee.
"The approaching craft are Sontaran battle cruisers." // Oooh.
Oh, it's still Peri. Can't we get a new one? Or at least an add-on?
I'm trying to think how best to mention Peri's cleavage without sounding like a pig.
Ooh, Gandalf.
Blegh. That was even a little more gruesome than when Angel would do it.
"Oh, I do wish you'd stop switching personal pronouns." // 1 point for Peri.
"Tea time already, nurse?" // Wouldn't it be hilarious if he made that Sontaran serve a penance as a nurse?
I kind of love how Chesene is always a step or two ahead of Dastari.
I suppose this must have been a location shoot. The steering wheel is on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
Aww. Poor Oscar. He didn't deserve that.
Well, that was quite a good one.
