dear cincinnati,
im pleased to announce that i have returned. after 2120 miles and 45 hours in the car, my roadtrip has ended.

when last we parted i was undecided about going to nyc. i went and it was fantastic. i spent the day doing things i have never done in nyc. i started by going shopping around herald square (namely macys). i spent waaaay too much money. oops. but i looked hot walking around nyc...but thats probably bc i was sweating. after macys i took the tube down to chinatown and actually did a little research...fancy that. then...then! i went to the land of my people...i went to little italy for the first time and had lunch. it was delicious. i was getting tired so i hopped back on the subway and went north to central park...walked to fifth avenue but got distracted by rockefeller center. so i sat there and ate twizzlers while watching nbc's broadcast on election plaza. after i finished the twizzlers i went to the top of rock center...way better than the top of empire state...but thats only bc you can see the empire state building. it was really cool. whence i returned to earth...i noticed st patricks was open to the public. being a sucker for big ol churches, i went in and was delighted. i walked around then did the american thing and left...and went to H&M and did more shopping. by this point it was dark and i rode the train in from stamford, connecticut so i decided to head back to my room and watch the election results. im thrilled with the results and i will leave it at that.

i left stamford bright and early and avoided nyc traffic by heading north...ish. i crossed the tappan zee bridge and drove for hours and hours across southern new york. my destination was jamestown...the home of the lucy-desi museum. for those of you who dont know, i love lucy has been my favorite tv show for about as long as i can remember and ive never been able to go to jamestown to enjoy the place of lucille balls birth. well i checked into my hotel in downtown jamestown...spread out on the bed and pulled out the hotel guide only to find that the museum was closed...or so that piece of literature said. several other sources indicated varying states of closedness or openness for said museum. after driving all day i was tired...so i had dinner and went to bed. i woke up semi depressed that my adventure to jamestown (which was not even remotely on the way home) could be a bust. i spent 20 mins trying to find the museum only to see a sign in 6point font telling me it had moved to a street on the other side of town. so off i went and much to me delight...it was open! hoooray! AND...there were two seperate museums. oh boy! they were great. imagine the coolest thing in your life...then add off the wall memoribilia from that thing and stick it in a musty room with very random soundclips. it was fantastic. id do it again in a heart beat.

all in all it was one of the best roadtrips ive ever had. it really pays to get off the highway. it may take a little longer but the scenery is always better.

stockholm, you should go on a roadtrip and find the boyhood home of Olof Palme.
