H-O-T S-I-C-K
Three good books, one mediocre movie. Treasure Island was first up and it was great, should have read it a long time ago. After that I spent last week with Watership Down. I had avoided this book in the past, I'm pretty sure I must have seen the animated movie when I was young (maybe too young) and I think that I was probably put off by it, even though I can't recall a single scene from the movie itself. Who would have guessed I'd like a 400+ page book of English rabbits? This week I got The Handmaid's Tale from the library. I had read a chapter from it during Rhetoric of Dystopia and it was about what I expected.
Speaking of what I expected, went to see Cars yesterday. Not one of Pixar's best (still that's better than any other cg animated film coming out this year). Been fighting a cold since last Thursday, seems like it will be done soon. Hope so anyway. (oh yeah, it's really hot here)
