Simple pleasures, part 2

So Rosemary's been at her new job at Taylor & Francis for about a month. The neat thing about it is that on my slower days I can meet her for lunch.

She works at Fourth and Chestnut streets in Old City, while I work in South Philly at 16th and South.

We met for lunch today in Washington Square, one of my favorite places in the city. It has a nice design, and there is a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with several Revolutionary War-era flags and a statue of George Washington. The square was built on the site of a mass grave of Continental Army. And, ironically, slaves were traded there.

Unfortunately, it's got a crappy fountain -- an unadorned base surrounding an open spigot that shoots a single stream into the air as if the fountain were pissing -- but I still like the place a lot.

So eating lunch in one of my favorite places in the city, with my favorite girl. Not a bad lunch at all.
