Friday night out by surprise

Oct 07, 2010 01:58

Not too much has been going on as of late, but there has been some fun. My off days have been out of whack because i am taking four days off for Rosemary's birthday this weekend. But I ended up being off last Friday after I pointed out to my boss that I was working nine days in a row, which shouldn't happen.

That night, Rosemary and I ventured out into the darkness of the Litchfield Hills to see local psychobilly powerhouse Soul Reapin' 3 headline a show at Snapper Magee's in Torrington. SR3 is breaking up since the bandleader is moving away, so they played this penultimate show with half-naked abandon and covering Danzig. The other bands were pretty good, too, especially the debut of Main Street Suites.

And we saw people! Not only did we meet Julia there, we also saw Guy taking money at the door, and ran into E-Bomb and Casey, who came up from New Haven. And the Rocket truck was on a late-night mission! I gorged myself on chili con carne, a bacon cheeseburger with green chili, and apple cider donuts, all made with fresh ingredients in the truck by Joe and Patricia. Mmmm.

We didn't get home until 3 a.m., but it was way more fun getting home at that time from a night out than how I usually come home then from work!

friends, concert, music
