I wish I had more to post about, but life's been challenging right now. Not the easiest times, but it'll be all right soon enough. Already feeling on the upswing.
I'm considering the 30-day meme. Should I bother?
Anyway, here's some randomness:
I'm falling in love with my Comcast on-demand service for smut. I've been using it more than the DVR now that most networks are on it. But the real thing is uncovering all the shit packed into it, such as the fact that Something Weird Video has a section full of awful exploitation films, burlesque performances and other random dirty stuff. I saw a full-on burlesque show from the '50s with singers, dancers and comedians. Rosemary and I watched a really bad "newsfilm" or burlesque legend
Tempest Storm getting her ginormous boobs plaster-casted.
I cooked! Working at night, I haven't been cooking so much recently. But the weekend before last I made
breaded pork chops with some pasta and fra diavlo sauce we got from an Italian market-type store in West Hartford Center. I used olive oil to make the bread crumbs stick, pan-seared them a bit in the iron skillet before chucking the whole thing into the oven. Came out like gangbusters! I still can taste them right now.
Gourmet Mexican food is good. On Sunday, Rosemary and I went to
Besito, this gourmet Mexican restaurant that opened in West Hartford Center a few months ago. Despite not finding much on the menu that looked like something I wanted to eat, I like everything both of us ordered. I want more of the enchilada special I got, with beef and wild mushrooms and a green tomatillo sauce so rich and buttery.
We're three weeks into the NFL season, and I've watched next to no games. I watched the kickoff game Vikings-Saints, which stunk. Then I watched Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb get faceplanted, and Michael Vick step out of a time machine from 2005 and kick ass. It's so odd to not be consumed by football on Sunday, but I haven't cared too much yet. But I must see Donovan McNabb's return to Philly, that should be fun.
Phillies Phever's about to set in. October is coming, so I'm looking forward to the Phillies taking over my life. Four straight division titles and playoff appearances, just simply amazing. Let the Phillies Phever begin, and let's hope I'm standing in
another victory parade this Halloween.
