Life has been very much on-the-go recently. Just feels like things don't slow down.
Sometimes, we're going. Two weeks ago, we went to Torrington for our second time at the Main Street Marketplace. Just a few weeks into its first year, the marketplace was already several steps improved. Lots more vendors, including farms, and even more entertainment as downtown was packed with people. We hung with Julia a while, then did more photos with Jillian of 60b Photography.
The first time, this ended up happening:
And this time, we needed some other silliness:
And other times, people are on the go to us. An old co-worker was in town two weeks ago, so after Torrington we met up with him and other work friends in West Hartford, drank too much, listened to a crappy cover band, and stayed out until 3 a.m. And last week we got a visit from
lipbylipby,
theballadofyoko and their dog Buck while they were visiting family in CT.
Then we're back on the go again. We went to Philadelphia last Wednesday and Thursday since I hadn't seen my parents since Mother's Day. My mom retired last month, and I finally got to see her awards, a proclamation from the city council, and photos from the retirement party. My mother worked for the city for 42 years! She was shocked to tears at her surprise retirement party, where more than 50 people came. Now she gets to enjoy a well-earned retirement, going as crazy as my father.
I also went out to Reading to see Nick, my best friend from high school, and his family. I used to spend about half my high school years with them, but I hadn't seen them all in about three years. It was great to reconnect. And later that night I saw
rockwrok DJing at Barbary.
Trying to stay put for a while, but it's not looking likely. Might stay home this week, or just go to Torrington. And then next week I'm off to Jersey for Danielle's birthday. And in September my parents are finally coming to visit me. Whew!
