While out with Tish last Saturday, here's what I ate:
Healthfood cookie and water from Sunrise Bakery
Big Mac, fries and water at McDonald's
Half a large popcorn (and more water) at "Speed Racer"
House salad (with bacon and cheese), mini bacon cheeseburgers, fried shrimp, mini steak fajitas, with water and a pint of Killian's Irish Red, at Applebee's
Obviously the worst eating day I've had in a while - the cookie was the healthiest thing i ate, since it was made with oat bran, nuts and brown sugar. The next morning I felt pretty awful as my body rebelled against so much junk. Tish and I went for a walk, and I decided it was time to get back on the fitness horse, since it had been a month since I
hurt my knee running.
Sunday evening I tested out my knee on the park track, and I was able to run a mile and walk another before the knee started to ache. Tuesday I ran another mile, and walked another mile, and stopped when it began to ache. Yesterday I ran a mile down my street, and walked back. So far, so good.
I also went back to the gym Tuesday, and while I wasn't up to it today before work, I did do an hourlong yoga/pilates workout on my cable on-demand. It kicked my ass, and I stopped when I needed to - those downward dog knee crunches were killer! - but I kept pushing through. My hips are sooooo open right now, I think I'm bowlegged.
OK, I want a treat, so off to get some water ice.
