"Ok...A little to the left. Up. Up. Down a little. Alright! Good! Tie it off and get down!"
Her skinny only employee scrambled down the ladder. Cinderella admired the store front. The red and white GRAND REOPENING sign fluttered in the breeze atop the shop sign. Witches and builderers, using what they could from the depleted tresuary and outside funding, had been working around the clock to restore Bullfinch Street to its former glory after the recent attack by Mister Dark which decimated Fabletown. He had stolen the magic which had protected the community and stablized the enchantments for centuries. The buildings simply crumbled. The Glass Slipper Shoe Store was one of the many buildings and homes that had been lost which included the apartment complex and government building which many fables called home.
An explaination of a freak local earthquake was implanted in the minds of the mundies so it seemed only natural that the old buildings would fall in. It had taken quite a bit of power out of the magic users to do so.
She missed the old store. She owned that building for decades and now it was gone. Yet, the warehouse inside this one was more expansive though it would be a while for her to get her stock built back up. Time would tell if the new store would last as long in the neighborhood as the old one.
About an hour after the doors opened, regulars began to come in to give their condolences for the loss of the old building and to give their support through their purchases. Cindy scurried about assisting mundy and fable customers and catching up on local gossip. Hopefully the ad for the reopening sale in the local newspaper and on the website would pay off and there would be some new faces.
