All the smells here are old. I wonder when the last time was that anyone was in this place?
This was the first thought that passed through Avery's mind as she walked through the hallways of the empty, ghost-like Xmansion. She had been there for about a day and a night by that point, trying to find his room. The one Logan used when he stayed there. But all the scents were old and it was getting harder to distinguish them from the dust and the stale air. At first...when she'd first arrived, Avery had tried to clean up the place, in case someone should come back. But after the kitchen and half of the main hall, she'd rightly realized the the place was just too big for one girl to clean. Even if the girl had enhanced strength speed and durability. So from that point on she'd been wandering through the halls, stopping at doors and sniffing them to try and get a bead on a familiar scent. It wasn't going well.
Until she stopped at a door with a male smell behind it. She thought back, trying to remember what it was, and it came to her. A blue furred boy who'd been telling the other resident teens about what the battle in Metropolis had been like. It wasn't the room she'd been looking for, but it was familiar and that made her feel a bit more comfortable. Maybe if she got inside, there would be some clue about where everyone had gone while she was off in the woods. As quietly as she could, she popped a claw and inserted it into the keyhole, then turned her wrist swiftly, slicing a hole in the metal and thereby unlocking the door. After that, it only took a gentle touch to cause the door to swing slightly open so she could peer inside before entering.
She was thankful though that when everyone left, it seemed they forgot to turn on the alarm system.
