I suppose I should update this since I haven't in...something in the vicinity of forever. Of course, that would require having interesting and noteworthy things to mention, which I don't currently possess. So this will be short...
Last Wednesday evening, my dad got T-boned by a guy who ran a red light. His truck flipped over 1½ times and came to rest upside-down. Thankfully, he was wearing his seat belt and basically came out unscathed, even though all of the glass was shattered and the truck was (obviously) totalled. Had a concussion with some cuts and bruises, but otherwise nothing too bad that can't be fixed with a little Tylenol. Always wear your seat belts, people...
Another thing of note is that the hockey season is finally over. The team finished the year 18-8-2 and 3rd in the conference, which isn't too shabby at all. Next year we won't be in a conference, which will allow us to host our own tournament and play some new teams. I'm going to be in charge of scheduling for the first time, and I'm pretty excited about what I've accomplished already. For the first time, we're going to play the University of Kentucky, which will be a huge deal. I wouldn't hesitate to say there are more UK fans here in Evansville than in any other Indiana city, so that game should have a great crowd. Also scheduled Purdue and St. Louis University, which I'm real happy about. We're probably going to get our asses kicked more next year, but at least we'll be losing to big-name quality teams that will put butts in the seats.
Amanda's grandpa died Sunday night. She's up in Indy now for the funeral. I wish I could've gotten off of work to go with her, but I couldn't get out of a couple of important meetings. I know it really really sucks going through a grandparent's death. I love you, Amanda. :)
Nothing much else to say, really. Spring is almost here, even though the weather has been quite winter-like lately. I look forward to hearing the first rumble of thunder. Almost time to dust off my Storm Spotter card and get to work...
