Okay, I know I said "winter's finally here" last time, but now it's REALLY here. This is just insane...22 inches of snow in Evansville ain't right. I won't bother going into more detail because I think everyone who reads this has probably already heard (or lived) it. I guess "ridiculous" is the best way to describe it.
On top of that, it's so damn cold. At least the sun's out, making all the snow look really pretty. But hey, the sun ain't worth much when it's all of 4 degrees. It's supposed to be about 10 below tonight. Ugh.
Crazy thing is, we're going to be in the 50's for 3 or 4 days next week. This is going to be a mess until it melts, and then it's going to be a different kind of mess when it all does melt. Yuck.
I have no idea what I'm doing for Christmas. We're still under a State of Emergency, so attempting a 200-mile trek probably isn't a good idea unless they rescind it. I originally planned on driving to Indy last night, but now tomorrow morning is a best-case scenario. (At least there shouldn't be too many people on the roads tomorrow...I hope.) May not end up going at all, at the rate this is going.
I did venture out to McDonald's for lunch today. After being snowed in for 2 days in a row, I just had to get out. A double cheeseburger never tasted so good, I must say. The roads in town aren't too horrible as long as you take it slow and avoid the real slushy parts. The problem is smaller roads that only have one groove beaten down. If you get cars going in both directions, that creates quite a problem...especially for my little car. But I was quite happy to see a few spots of the main roads actually down to the asphalt.
Anyway...enough rambling about that. Hope everyone's staying warm. Merry Christmas!
