I love it when every little thing that can go wrong goes wrong...everything adds up to make one pathetically horrible day. Normally, I don't let little annoyances get to me...but when they pile up all in the same day, it's really unpleasant.
My day started off badly, when two cicadas buzzed past my head and into the apartment as I was trying to leave for work. The cat went nuts, trying to catch them. Took me 20 minutes to shoo them out of the apartment, because I couldn't exactly leave the door open during the whole process and risk letting more in...
Then I got to work and a Trojan virus managed to get through the firewall and onto my computer. Pop-ups started flying everywhere and my PC screeched to a halt. After 3 hours of searching on the hard drive and on the 'net, I finally managed to get the damn thing off.
As work ended, severe storms rolled into the area. Then I got home and found that my 'net was temporarily down. Tried listening to a CD in the meantime, but of course, my CD player has suddenly lost the ability to, you know, PLAY A CD.
To make a bad day worse, my mom called and left two bitchy rambly repetitive messages on my machine. Called her back, which turned out to be a mistake since I was already in a sour mood. Talking to her can ruin my best days, so talking to her on an already-bad day definitely isn't wise.
So I actually got to talk to my dad for a bit, before their power went out and cut us off. Of course, I called back and Mom answered. In the midst of her usual hyper-annoyance, I found out that my grandpa blacked out in his garage today...fell down and banged himself up pretty well. No major injuries, but still not a good thing.
The best part of this day is going to be the end of it. I'm going to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be far better. Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals is tomorrow night, which should be good. The Cards play on TV as well. And although I'm not looking forward to putting up with Mom this weekend when I go home for Dad's birthday, I am looking forward to going to Game 5 of the Pacers/Pistons series on Sunday. Got tickets for my dad and I. I'm driving back to Evansville immediately after the game, so hopefully my weekend at home will end on a good note. Just as this day will, when I go to bed. :)
