I love visiting St. Louis. I really do. And not just because of the Blues and Cardinals. It's just a wonderful city. Amanda and I went to the Gateway City on Saturday. We took in a Cards game at Busch Stadium, which was really cool. I'd never been to Busch before, and I wanted to get to a game before they tear it down and move to the new stadium. The Cards won 4-0, which was an added bonus.
After the game, we grabbed lunch at White Castle (yum!) and then galavanted around downtown. Went to the Arch (even though we couldn't go up it because the rides were sold out) and took in the Jefferson Expansion Museum. Just sat on the bank of the Mississippi for a while too, which was nice. Then we walked to Union Station to do some browsing, buy some Cards memorabilia, and enjoy some ice cold beverages. Then we rode back to the car on MetroLink, which I love. (It's cheaper to park in Illinois and ride than it is to park in a downtown garage for a day game.)
I think we walked about 4 miles total, and now we both have a bit of a nagging cold as a result of the cool breeze all day. But it was sunny and gorgeous, and the temperature was pretty comfortable in the sun. Just a great day to escape...
