Sorry about being late, loves, but I spent four hours yesterday trying to get my new modem up and running, before giving up and heading for the library - only to realize it was 9:30 and the library was closed. I'm trying to sneakily type this at work without anybody noticing... and so, here are my questions:
1. How long have you been writing fan fiction?
Well, I wrote my first fanfic (though I didn't know it at the time) in third grade, when I wrote a story for language class where Han Solo and Princess Leia get married. My first posted story was in the Star Trek: The Original Series fandom, almost eleven years ago.
2. Have you participated in any other fandoms?
Um. God, yes? Star Trek: TOS and Voyager, the X-Files, the Invisible Man (a terrifically awful and short-lived SciFi original), SG1, Harry Potter, Queer as Folk, due South, and Sentinel, as well as a little Lord of the Rings and a brief foray into a couple of RPS fandoms.
3. What do you enjoy most about SGA and/or SGA fandom?
The fandom is so gleeful. I mean, even when people attack, say, McSheppers, it's nowhere near the bitchiness achieved in QAF shipper wars, and our biggest wanks are nothing next to HP. And the people - or at least the corner of fandom I'm in - have all this SQUEE and joy and just spread it around all the time. It's lovely.
Also, I've always been a huge scifi fan, so shiny gay space show? Exactly my cup of tea.
4. Why did you choose to join Team Angst/Team Romance?
I opted for Romance this time because I've written some pretty dark stuff in this fandom - and more is in my WIPS folder - but at its heart, I think of McKay/Sheppard as my happy place pairing. Plus, I've had a couple of really unpleasant months in RL and wanted to escape into fluff and cuddling for a few thousand words.
5. Where can interested readers find more of your work?
My LJ has all the stuff that's on the internets right now; I'm planning on re-uploading a lot of my much older stories later, after RL calms the hell down and I have time to edit the crappy ones. I'm leaving the atrocious X-Files het stuff up there, though, to keep myself humble and to amuse anyone who cares to have a laugh at my talent for melodrama. :)
