Oh my god, this is freaking GORGEOUS. Wow. The colors, and their relaxed, comfortable positions, and the background and the weather and the resemblance to the actors. I really, really love this.

Thank you! The likenesses didn't give me any hassles this time \o/ and I'm very glad they look relaxed, and comfortable. I wanted that feeling to come through.

Oh, this is utterly fantastic. I love all the little textures: their hair, the grass, and especially the bark and leaves of the tree. Their poses and expressions are wonderful.

I'm curious about that object in the grass next to Rodney -- a writing tablet, perhaps?

Thank you. Yes, I figured Rodney should have a writing tablet, to record his very important thoughts (and a team of scribes back home to transcribe them for posterity!). I was very happy with how the tree bark finally turned out - it was a bit trial and error at first *g*

Oh, this is so awesome! I love the richness of the detail -- John's gorgeous calves, the way Rodney's garment (alas) carefully covers his groin, the expressions on both of their faces. How close they're sitting together, and the way their arms touch. Beautiful!

I'll admit to being a bit of a tease with the draping of Rodney's tunic and toga, but I enjoyed the opportunity to paint their legs for once! (I didn't enjoy painting their feet so much, though. Aaargh!)

This is really fantastic. I love the detail and the general emotional feel of the piece.

ETA: Doh! I also love the implied "A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou" reference.

Thank you! I really tried to get the right emotional feel, so I'm very happy it worked.
