In my absence, oh faithful readership (tips hat to ryanescobar), I have
1) Prepared for the MA exam (read six texts, among them Anna Karenina, Tristam Shandy, Aurora Leigh, and The Diaologic Imagination.
2) Opted out of taking the MA exam (takes place this Saturday the 17th); I will take it next semester, or at the latest next fall, next fall being my last semester.
3) Promised to finish my CW thesis.
4) Broken my promise to finish my CW thesis.
5) Spent days in Oregon; it was in Portland where the traffic cams caught my transit transgression.
6) Spent days in Texas, a country within a country.
7) Started managing at Wolfgang.
8) Started teaching again.
9) Booked flights to NYC.
10) Planned to book flight to either Sea/Tac or PDX to see the Foo and Weezer.
11) Made a friend.
11a) Discovered kinship with an acquaintance through lengthy and highly-developed e-mails; an acquaintance turned into Close Friend.
12) Been called out for not posting nearly enough.
13) Agreed with 12.
14) Renewed my love for digressions.
15) Acquired a distaste for commas.
16) Equated "Federal Employee" with "Incompetence." (If I wrote my own dictionary--which I might yet--your inquiry into the definition of "Incompetence" would prompt you to "see Federal Employee.")
17) Vowed to update this (or other journals) more regularly.
18) Planned to see too 17.
I bid you pleasantness,
R
