WHAT ARE THE POSTING GUIDELINES?
  • Make sure it is ON TOPIC. Please do not post entries about the band members' personal lives or any gossip and unsubstantiated rumors
  • Please double check to make sure the content of your post hasn't already been discussed. Our tags are useful for this!
  • Images that are larger than 400x400 and entries that are overly long (such as concert recaps and interview transcripts) should go behind a cut. We also prefer you place any video embeds behind a cut. If you need to know how to make a cut please read this section of the Livejournal FAQ to learn how
  • We require you to state and link to your source. If it is you we recommend stating that as well.
  • Do not adjust the font size or font color
  • Correct grammar and spelling is greatly appreciated, as are paragraph breaks

WHAT ARE THE COMMENTING GUIDELINES?
  • Please do not insult your fellow commenters. If you have a disagreement please debate the commenter in a respectful manner
  • Please keep comments ON TOPIC
  • Please do not delete comments. Use the edit feature or reply to your own comment if you have an addition or change
  • Mods WILL step in the middle of an argument or thread if we feel it is getting out of hand and hand out warnings
  • If you have an issue with a commenter that you feel needs to be addressed, please contact a mod at mcr.unofficial@gmail.com

WHAT ARE THE CONCERT POSTS?

  • Our concert posts are a collection of images, videos, recaps, reviews and other relevant links and information from a particular concert date. They are posted the day of the concert and members are welcome to use the post as a discussion or gathering place before, during and after the show.
  • We welcome any and all links! Please keep the links in "raw" format, meaning please do not "a href" the link as it's easier for us to copy and paste them into our post.
  • We do not comment on the quality of the videos we link to.
  • We will update each concert post with new links for a period of at least several days after a concert, but do not expect the post itself to be updated with new links after that (the mods have lives to live, after all). Always look through to the comments for additional linked material (and you are always welcome to continue linking material for a certain concert no matter how long ago it was).
  • We source and credit each batch of pictures and each video. All credit belongs to the original photographer or videographer. If you would like your particular link taken down please leave us a comment or send us an email at mcr.unofficial @ gmail.com and we will do so as soon as possible.
  • We welcome any and all self linking/self promotion as long as it has to do with that particular show. We would LOVE to link to your recap, your pictures, your website, your videos.
  • The most recent concert posts are always linked in our header (directly below the image header, middle column). These get cycled out as each date goes by.
  • You can find a concert post master here that is updated regularly. You can also access concert posts using our ! mod post: concert tag or by searching our tour: location: [location] tags, to search by particular city. This can be found via our tags page.

About The Band

BAND INFO
My Chemical Romance was formed in 2001, after the attacks on September 11th, by Gerard Way and Matt Pelissier, with members Mikey Way (Gerard Way's younger brother) on bass and Ray Toro on lead guitar. They eventually added rhythm guitarist Frank Iero just prior to the recording of their first album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, released on Eyeball Records.

Their second album was released on Reprise Records and produced by Howard Benson.Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge was their breakthrough album and has sold upwards of 1 million records in the US. During the touring for this album, the band went through a series of personal changes, including Gerard Way getting sober, parting ways with Matt Pelissier and adding their new drummer Bob Bryar.

Their third album,The Black Parade, was released on October 23, 2006 on Reprise Records and produced by Rob Cavallo. For the promotion of this album the band began The Black Parade World Tour, beginning in 2007.

Their fourth album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, produced by Rob Cavallo on Reprise Records, was released on November 22nd, 2010.

The band is still on Reprise Records, a subsidiary label of Warner Brothers Records.

The band was formerly managed by Brian Schechter. Somewhere in 2008 to early 2009 Brian and My Chemical Romance parted ways. Lauren Valencia is their current manager.

On March 3rd, 2010 Frank posted a blog on mychemicalromance.com announcing that Bob Bryar and the band had parted ways. No reason is known for the separation at this time.

In 2012, the band finished work on building their own studio in Los Angeles, and began work on their 5th album.

On September 14, 2012 Frank posted a blog on mychemicalromance.com announcing that the band would begin releasing the tracks from the "Conventional Weapons" sessions, the album that was recorded and then scrapped between The Black Parade and Danger Days. Beginning in October, the band released 2 tracks per month, each month, through February 2013 (10 tracks total).
