On superheroes pitching tents and pet memorials

Jun 14, 2013 00:13

Let's just say it's not every day that one gets Bat Girl to help set up a tent. In the dark. With howling wind gusts.

Ok, let me backtrack as what I wrote is completely true --- and for those that have been to burner events before are likely not in the least surprised that this is so.

I see there's proof that I brought a book to PDF. I'm not sure if the beer helped my studies.

Thank you, Kim! I've been meaning to write this weeks ago, and wouldn't allow myself to write about anything else here until I had exorcised those words out from my system. It was a release to get the words put to pixels.

And, oh, listening to that song again. It just whisked me right back, so it did. Oy. O.o

Awww. (I cried.) I'm glad you were the right person in the right place at the right time.

Sorry I made you cry -- I'm guessing you watched the video. ;) I just shared it with my Mum, and started watching the video to verify the link. I had to stop part way through because I didn't want to be That Guy tearing up in the coffee shop. I blame my Italian ancestry for being so weepy. -_-

I was so deeply glad when I heard those pipes start up. It may have been the most touching, absolutely ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed, and associating with the sorts of folks I do, I have witnessed a lot of very touching, very ridiculous things. I laughed hysterically and cried at the same time. Thank you.

(I drew a to-tiny-scale paw print for the wee rescue furball we lost this year, utterly surprised to have found a temple piece suitable for what many people think of as such a small loss. I cried a bit then, too, and when I mailed that paper photo off to some of the folks who built it. It's funny how things one usually feels disallowed to really grieve for bubble up given the right space. As such, I'm really grateful to everyone involved. And I think it is quite safe to say no one who was there can possibly forget.)

Aw, shucks. Thank you!

"Touching and ridiculous." I like it! And that does seem to describe that piece so very well. (And perhaps a few other things at PDF.)

By the bye, I'm delighted to have bumped into you at PDF. Further validation that going was The Right Thing to Do.
