I just spoke with his vet. It is likely that he has pancreatitis. An ultrasound reveals his pancreas is inflamed and his gall bladder is filled with sludge, making it difficult for bile to escape. It's unknown whether the pancreatic swelling is due to a tumor or any of the other possible causes listed on the reference site. (Indeed it appears ( Read more... )

egads he looks like my mother's cat. He was sick for a VERY long time before the vet figured out what was wrong. He had similar symptoms to what you've described with Seamus, except that his issue was a thyroid problem. I hope Seamus pulls through this and returns to preventing you from paying your bills ;-)

wow, sending seriously good vibes his little furry way. the website sounded pretty hopeful that most cases can be reversed; i'll keep my fingers crossed for him.
