Ok, so you probably want to know how the show was. Well, it was foocking amazing. Yep. It began with Against Me rocking the house. They were great. I may go see them in exactly 3 months (December 4th) they're playing with The Epoxies, The Sovietts, and Smoke or Fire. Yeah, so after about half an hour of waiting Jimmy Eat World came on, and some stuff happened, but I feel that I can't do them justice if I followed my description of there set with anything but an injury report and fairwell. So after Jimmy Eat World killed the arena (yeah, that was some hard core head banging), and another 30 minute break to set up Green Day's stage, a drunk bunny wandered out as the radio started playing YMCA. After some head banging to YMCA and Ramones' Hey Ho, Let's Go, Green Day came out (exacly after the last bar of Hey Ho, Let's Go). They played (as I best recall, my brain did get badly shaken) American Idiot, St. Jimmy (hey, they WERE in New England), Jesus of Suburbia (for all of us from small towns), Holiday (amazing live), Burnout (old school great), some tracks that I forgot, King for a Day, soon after this my shirt came off, for the second time, then they fucked around for a while, at one point Billy Joe started strocking himself, kissing a guy form the audience, Jason getting onto my shoulders to try to be that guy, people dissing Bush, and some more songs, Wake me up When September Ends (dedicated to the huricane victims), and Minority. After this point, Green Day pretended to end the show, then for an encore played Good Ridance (how could they not?), Bulivard of Broken Dreams, and We Are the Champoins (they were in Gelete Stadium)(two girls realy enbodied the song by dancing)(ok, I understand that it is a great song, and Green Day does rock, but Armstrong isn't Fready Mercury and Dookie isn't within a mile of Night at the Opera (I wonder how many people will get the refrences))(ok, so what if I have a triple...err..quadruple...um...quintiple paranthtical commnet, it had to be said). Then the fireworks when off and the show was over. Ok, so it is a good show and all, but the pyrotecnics, the water guns, the confeti, and the explosions were a bit much. Jimmy Eat World has as good of, if not a better set, with a single banner. Speaking of JEW, Adkin began with the opening words of Futures sung ever so emotionaly (the song, which happens to be the first track on the album of the same title), then after the first verse, the band apeared and started Pain. Highlights of the show included a kick ass renditions of Bleed American, Blister, Work (a more emo version this time), The Middle, Get It Faster, Futures (for real this time), and A Praise Chorus. After the massacres to my lungs (I had to scream, head bang, and wave my hand in the air, sheesh), JEW killed the fans with Sweetness. The song was amasing, and a high note to end the show on. There weren't too many fans in the crowed, or at least as hard core as me. There was one guy, in a dark green Green Day shirt and a backwards baseball cap (white I think) that was as into it as I. If I find him while I still remember the show, I'd want to discus my impresions with him. So now my legs hurt, my voice is still in recovery, and my right hand is still tired, though I can still type. All the jumping and screaming realy made me thankfull for endurance running. And (bad bad bad grammer. You've been some very very bad grammer, now you need to be punished) now I leave you with something that only people who were there, or wanted to be would understand:
"How long would it take me to walk across the United States all alone?
The West coast has been traumatized,
And I think I'm the only one still alive."
