These past few days have been abso-fucking-lutely incredible! Thursday was an absolutely wonderous Thanksgiving (with the exception of one extremely rude interruption) and Friday was that orgasmarific Skinny Puppy show! I guess the best idea for me is to talk in a retroactive manner, starting with the most recent and working backwards.
The Skinny Puppy show...was probably one of the best live shows that I've ever been to. I had originally been fearing a wretched night because there were so many problems with us getting there, due to Trinity and Miss Cat being on the register until six thirty (the doors for the show opened up at 8) and all of the of the problems that entailed. Surprisingly, Bill showed up...early at that. We ended up getting to the venue at roughly a quarter 'til 8, and the line was longer than I had wanted (but shorter than I had originally expected). Luckily, Stan and Rachel had gone super early and stood got us a damned good spot in the line. Out of the group, though, I was the only one who managed to squeeze into the very front but that was mainly due to the fact that I had temporarily befriended two Litany geeks who had the spots I wanted...they let me up next to them in a spot that was just slighly right of center. In the wait, I managed to get another Skinny Puppy shirt along with Otto's new CD "Global Speaker Fisting".
First up was Mr. Otto Von Schirach, who has definitely seemed to have matured in his stage performance since the last time I saw him back in July for the first Skuppy tour. He even managed to upgrade from the tiny circular table to a full folding table!! He opened the set with just a microphone...in his mouth. It was amazing what sound he was able to achieve just by chewing on the thing. The music, was pretty much the same setlist as before (from what I could tell), starting with a rad song (which I just found out is called "G4 Scramblin'" ... assuming it's in reference to him programming on an Apple computer). I was on the safety barricade in front and it was vibrating through the whole set, sending the most pleasant feelings up my entire body...I WAS FEELING THE MUSIC, DAMNIT! It was quite interesting when he started playing the song "Goat Sperm" (I only knew the title because the geek next to me screamed it out as soon as the sampled animal noises kicked in) and a guy with an intricate goat/dragon costume came out with a little clown on a stick (the clown had boobs too) as well as a man in a gorilla suit. I will forever remember Otto prancing around the stage with a blonde wig and a Santa Claus beard, wearing just a pair of brown short-shorts with a silver penis/testicles dangling from his crotch while the goat/dragon broke his clown-stick and the gorilla threw banana peels at the girls around me...
After Otto left stage, we had about a forty-five minute wait until Skuppy took stage, with footage of Baraka playing on the monitors after about half an hour. But, by god, once they started playing it was instant orgasms from nearly everybody in the audience. The setlist was almost identical to the last leg, with a few exceptions, but the performance quality was much better, seeing as it was the third to last show of the last leg of the tour. I was pretty close to the center-front, so I ended up being splattered with a good bit of the blood, mud, slime and powder (which I think was supposed to represent heroin), leaving me and the people next to me resembling funky hot dogs. I couldn't help but notice how much angrier Ogre was this time around, probably reflecting his opinions of the recent election (represented by the two cloaked terrorists slitting his throat, who had Bush and Cheney masks on underneath the wraps).

I wish they had played "Testure" or "The Choke" instead of "Blue Serge" but I guess it's okay in retrospect. That was Rachel's favorite for a while and I guess it's good that she got to hear that for her first Skuppy show. I'm eagerly looking forward to them releasing new material and doing a whole new setlist for a new, fucked up tour. The Litany geek seemed sure that they were going to get a whole new slew of stuff for the next tour since the gear that they had was all but falling apart. For the next tour, I hope they play: Tormentor, Grave Wisdom, Dig It, Love In Vein, HateKILLL, Morpheus, Left Handshake, Assimilate, Addiction, Death, Nature's Revenge, Rodent, Two-Time Grime, NOT Worlock (I like the song, but they should not play it just for the lame-ass people who were chanting for it before Otto even started his set), Testure, Dogshit, Cult (This one would have been REALLY cool to do the powder blowing with), Solvent, Anger, Glass Houses, Burnt With Water, DaddyUWarbash or Ghostman. If I would have heard any of those songs, I couldn't even imagine what would happen. Definitely glad that they added "Hexonxonx" though...that's been one of my preferred tracks for quite some time now.
The "Police Line - Do Not Cross" tape that Ogre wrapped up the sit with during "Reclamation"...
Thanksgiving...was absolutely beautiful. Everybody showed up, sans Bill who had other engagements, and pretty much everybody co-existed quite beautifully. Kevin got to meet nearly all of my close friends and strikingly got along with most of them. I think meeting them has made him much more comfortable around me, as I've been noticing the way he talks around me has been less formal...less, as he would put it, "posh". Yada yada yada...we watched movies. I must say that the movie "2LDK" was probably one of the better movies I've seen in a long time...absolutely hillarious. Yada yada yada...we had sex. And so on. Nothing else here that I really want to go into over livejournal.
