On the News and American Idle

May 23, 2007 09:02

I didn't watch American Idol last night.  I've watched maybe two episodes this season.  I just really really don't like reality contest shows, especially singing ones.  Especially ones where someone like Hung Lo (read: William Hung) can become a celebrity by singing horribly.  Unfortunately, I have to hear about it because AZ is so excited that someone from Glendale is in the final two.  From the two episodes I watched, I liked Blake; he had the guts to be different.  I won't watch AI next year, unless they bring back Katharine McPhee (sure, she can't sing as good as others, but her "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" performance was probably the hawtest on AI), and maybe Terry Underpants--I mean Carrie Underwood.  Can we pit those no Celebrity Deathmatch?

I do get tired of things like this taking over the front page of our entertainment section of the paper.  Obviously, there are more important things to report, like what Heidi Klum calls her breasts (note: looks like AZ Central took down the article; it's "Hanz" and "Franz"), or, locally, auditions for the Little Mermaid.

Sorry for the rant.  New one to come on wedding bands.
Note to self: Don't go to McDonald's in Arkansas. More specifically, don't go to Arkansas. Really, a third time arrested for DWI and then released? In CA, there's a third strike law.

EDIT of the EDIT:
EDIT: More crap;  I'm not even through with Episode II. (See comments).  To Quote: "No, no, no, no. There are going to be two more Star Wars television series. One of them is well into production. That is Star Wars: Clone Wars."  I'd honestly be happier with a mini-series, or a series of Troops.
