The whole notion of Glee Club was starting to make Jack feel like wetting himself. He had only gotten in on a whim when Mr Schue liked his version of the song he picked, and now Jack had convinced himself he wasn't going to be able to pull that trick out of his butt twice. The Glee practices he had attended had mostly involved him trying to blend into the background so no one asked him to sing. He really hoped that continued.

He shuffled into the room and then flopped down into the closest chair beside the blonde girl. Quinn. The Cheerleader chick. He shot her a smile. "Hey," he greeted her and kicked his bag in under his seat with his heels.

Quinn watched with brow furrowed as the blond boy approached her casually, seeming to complete disregard who she was. She crossed her arms across her chest as she look to him while he sat. "...hi," She said, her voice dripping with equal parts confusion and condescension.

"Are you going to try for a solo?" Jack continued. It wasn't so much that he didn't know who she was, more just lacked the ability to place anyone on a pedestal. She wasn't going to care whether he was sitting beside her on on the bottom of his shoe, so why not just be friendly, like he was with most people, until they gave him reason to be otherwise.

"I'm not sure anyone would appreciate that," Quinn said smugly, slouching back into her seat. "But that's certainly an idea." Quinn eyed the boy out of the corner of her eye before she finally turned to look at him. "Why is it you're speaking to me again?" She intended it to be a snarky question, but it came out more curious.

Jack shrugged and crossed his arms over to his chest, glancing at her with his eyebrows raise. "I dunno. Why not? Do you have cooties or something? Or you think I do. I promise, I have good personal hygiene. Also, you looked kind of lonely. I'll shut up if you want me to, but if you want to get rid of me, you'll have to move. This seat is comfy."

Quinn's eyebrow rose curiously as she watched him briefly before she simply rolled her eyes. He was certainly annoying, but he wasn't blatantly rude to her, and for that she was secretly grateful. A smug smirk played on her lips as she sighed. "Whatever. But you might have to move once my boyfriend comes in." Quinn tried to casually shift her gaze to the door, awaiting the quarterback's arrival.

"He can have the chair on the other side of you. Here." Jack picked up his jacket and tossed it over her to land on the chair beside her. "Now no one will take it. If they try, I'll tell them the jacket got peed on. Those boys bathrooms, some people have really bad aim. Just for the record, it didn't get peed on, I promise."

Quinn grimaced as the jacket flew across her, pulling her hands up next to her face. When it landed haphazardly, she shot him a glare. "Thanks," She said with heavy sarcasm. "For the gesture and, you know, not peeing on your jacket. Congrats on that." She let her hands cross and rested them on her thigh.

Jack glanced at her, quirking an eyebrow. "Well, you're just a little ray of sunshine, aren't you? I'm sure you've got problems, but I seriously doubt I was the cause of them, so sorry you're having a crap day... week... year, but I'm still staying here, in this seat. Me and my rampant pee control will stay to ourselves. I'm sure you have your own share of people... disliking you. You don't need to add me to the list."

Quinn shot her eyes to him, jerking her head in his direction, her face laced with insult. "I don't really care whether someone like you likes me. I don't -- who are you?" Quinn wasn't going to put up with some sort of attitude by a boy she didn't even know.

"Santa Claus," Jack replied calmly, his hands now disappearing into the pockets of his hoodie, really unphased by her bitchiness. Everyone else could find the energy to deal with cheerleader snark.

Quinn closed her eyes in frustration, shaking her head. "Forget it. I don't have time for this." Quinn leaned over, picking up her binder and pretending to read over notes. She refused to be annoyed by some strange boy who was just doing it to rile her.

Jack just gave a small sigh when she cut off the conversation abruptly. It wasn't like he didn't expect it. In fact, it was a miracle she even responded to him to start with. He dug his finger in under his medic alert bracelet to scratch a persistent itch and then went back to staring at the door waiting for Mr Schue to arrive and hopefully pass over him for yet another practice.
