just a weird little snippet...the story is McShep first time in my head, set during The Return...
“My god.” Gibbs said, involuntarily.
“You’d think,” John said, and yeah, he wasn’t bitter at all, “That the SGC would have drones or probes or malps or something around the ass end on all of these planets by now.”
He keyed his radio on.
“Stargate Command, this is Sheppard. Found your ha’tak. Lee side of Jupiter.”
“Good work, Col. Sheppard.” Col. Carter’s voice came over the radio. “Now, for the tricky part. Rodney didn’t say exactly how this bug was supposed to be activated. I mean I know it has something to do with the ATA Gene and it’s natural neural interface with the Jumpers’ systems, but I’m still not completely sure how we turn it…”
A horrific scream cut through the air, high pitched and anguished. The pain-filled voice went on for about a minute, then wailed to a stuttering stop. Panting and snuffling could be heard through the ‘Jumper’s speakers. One of the marines swore and Lorne dropped his head down and shook it, looking sick.
“For such a smart man,” the amused voice had the distinctive rumble of a Go’auld, “that was an extremely stupid thing to do, Dr. McKay.”
“Yeah,” Rodney’s voice was hoarse and shaky, “I...figured..that out...myself, th...thanks. I’m really...hoping...not to have...to do it...again, OK?”
There was a moment of silence.
“Very well, Dr. McKay. I’ll give you a last hour with your friend. The implantation will begin as soon as the young Go’auld are delivered. Until then…”
There was rustling that probably heralded a cape-twirling exit. Then McKay started a low voiced chanting.
“Don’t die, don’t die, don’t die, don’t die, c’mon Agent Dinozzo, don’t die…”
“Found the on switch, Stargate Command.” John said, his voice tight. The cloaked ‘Jumper began to accelerate as he exchanged grim looks with Gibbs and Lorne.
“Commencing mission and going to radio silence.”
