With the massive storage/bandwidth of my new
domain and a request for target destruction from
shadowdude I give you the follow brief video for your amusement. The video is about two years old but never had web space to share it. In the video you will see your's truly shooting his good friend's Ruger M77 chambered in 416 Rigby. You will also see the results of what happens when a 400 grain soft-nose bullet going in excess of 2500fps collide with 1/2 armor plate cut in the shape of a gopher.
mcb and the 416 Rigby This video is mildly embarrassing for myself, as I tend to look and act a bit like a goober in it, but that's not all that far from reality and it was fun anyways. The hat is my lucky hunting hat and yes it is ugly as sin but it keeps my head warm and has been good luck.
This is not the first time this gopher was abuse.
My brother did a number on it earlier with his 7mm Remington Ultra Mag. Finally shortly after the above 416 Rigby abuse of the gopher another friend of mine let me shoot his 458 Win Mag and that was also used to abuse the gopher. After that experience we had to take him home use an 8 pound sledgehammer to flatten the gopher back out and then the welder to fix the accumulated holes. That gopher has lived a very hard life!
